Well, Bubba's thread made me decide to start this thread. I have a pretty good idea of my own, but I'd like to see what everyone else can come up with. So here's how it's going to work:

1) A picture of your carved pumpkin will be posted here along with a piece of paper with your NICO screen name on it. Submissions must all be in by November 1st (this is somewhat flexible; if you're late, you lose out on votes).

2) On November 2nd, I will start a new thread with a poll so that all of NICO can help vote for a winner. After a week of voting, the winner will be crowned and I will send them a little prize (~$30 item).

I realize that I'm posting this a little early, but I can't help myself and it gives everyone time to drum up ideas. LET THE CARVING BEGIN!

Now I have to think of something awesome. Cant wait to see what everyone has.

So like how do you have security from cheaters. Like say hypothetically I google "awesome pumpkin" carving and claim it as my own... hypothetically speaking.

Like I said, NICO decides the winner. I'm hoping that cheaters will be caught and not voted for. Should be a fool-proof system. We'll see what happens!

Maybe a piece of paper with your nico ID in the picture with the pumpkin would keep people from cheating. I carved mine this year, certainly not an award winner. Its chillin in my fridge because its still too hot out. It would be an oozing pile of mush in 4 days.

I'm going to give this a little bump to keep the interest up. Anyone got anything yet? I plan to carve mine this weekend.

My wife and I will carve ours closer to the day. Most likely Friday night. I'll try to have the pic up by Monday.

Same here, it keeps them from getting all saggy and baggy too close to Halloween.

If you want to carve early you can always refrigerate them when you're done to keep them in better shape, providing you have the space. Or you can revive an aging carved pumkin by soaking it in the bathtub all night.

Any extra space in my fridge is space that should be occupied by sammich fixin's and beer. Wife knows that. Good wife.

Let's set the bar low for the pumpkin carving by looking at these examples:

We did this a few times and gave out prizes but everyone became a p**** and was too lazy to actually spend time on a nico contest so they were discontinued

WAY TO GO
