PET THREAD!? Yes please! Im a bit of a pet picture junkie so please excuse me if I take this too far.

We will start with the big boy Chopper, aka Michael, aka Woofy, aka Dr Dubai, aka Banabalamb. We rescued Chop from a shelter with his twin sister Nala. Unfortunately we had to put Nala down, she had FIP which is a rare but 100% deadly disease. One of the hardest things we've ever had to do.

Herro!

What'll you have?
Image

Being epic on top of a door. Dont ask because I dont know.
Image

When Nala passed Chop got very reclusive. We thought he needed someone to keep him company while we were at work. Two weeks later we rescued Mila, aka Babymew, aka Shlippershhh, aka Thumperfoot, aka Devil in Disguise.

Look at the size of that back foot...

Hi Dad!

Being epic in our obviously fake and post cat ruined Xmas tree.

Video of how she greets me when I get home.
Image

Video of her having her way with one of our fleece blankets. Some people tell me this is a result of nursing, I think its her being a weirdo.

The bro and new sis together.

Now as much as I love cute furry animals that love teh kuddlez, Im also a huge fan of reptiles...

Meet Foo Foo. Red/purple phase Bearded Dragon.

Last but not least, Killer, a dear pet from the past. My male Savannah Monitor. This guy was NO JOKE. I actually had to donate him to a breeder because I could not care for him properly. I never "tamed" him even though I had him since about 2 months old, there was just too much wild in him. He also outgrew his 6' x 2.5' x 2' terrarium real quick. I have more pics but I need to scan them in. Yes that is a live mouse in his mouth.

This was Killer's set-up. Savannahs require a burrow as well as an ample amount of UV, so I built him a little bedroom w/window and up top was the sundeck.

Image

Laying out catching that UV. He would do this every morning as soon as the timers would kick his heat lamps on. Crawl out the bedroom door and jump right up in it. I really wish I had a better camera at the time, his color and pattern were so beautiful.

Image

And another series of mouse/Monitor struggle. At the time when these pics were taken he was getting his arse handed to him quite a bit. Some fights would take days and he would be pretty beat up at the end. Then he learned to do it right, then he ate 3 at a clip.

^AWESOME.

I have never heard of Flowerhorns, but I know Oscars and Jack Dempseys are pretty awesome fish, I imagine the Flowerhorns are right in the same category if they coexist?

Flowerhorns are very aggressive, more so then the oscars and jacks. They have to be alone most of the time. Out of all the ciclids we have had over the years he has been super duper crazy/aggressive. Whats crazy is the babys are like 100$ a pop or so and when we picked him up we got him at a pet club which they has no idea what he was so we got him for 3 bucks. He was little ugly ducking and now he's super awesome. :)

Thats pretty crazy man, my dad had numerous Oscars when I was growing up and I remember watching them take out dozens of feeder goldfish at a clip in seconds. Cant imagine anything more aggressive than that. My brother has a small ciclid set up running right now, I hear you on the cost of those puppies.

This is my GSD Rex and my Blue Heeler Bear. Unfortunately earlier this year Bear got out of the yard while I was at work and was hit by a car. He was without a doubt one of the coolest dogs I've ever known, he was capable of jumping from 6' straight up, if a tree had some low lying branches he could easily climb a tree, he would jump into my arms on command but he was also an escape artist. The last picture is of his dad stand on one of the trucks at work to get a better view.

Our newest addition, Greg brought her home tonight. Her name is Mia. She is a two month old Chiweenie (half Chihuahua / half Dachsund) that is just as sweet as she can be. She is also a rescue, so it's very cool we get the chance to give her a good home.

Both of our girls volunteer at rescues. They were pretty adamant that if we ever got one, we had to save one instead of going to a breeder or a pet store.

Then you better have a secure yard. It's in their blood to free roam, they're known to be one of the worst breeds about running away. Not necessarily to escape but just to roam and explore. You can curb this by consistently taking them for long walks in different areas.
