Heres an idea!! Take a towel and put it over your MAF.. Thats about how good "cold air intakes" are.....

Changing your towel every month would be cheaper than buying one of those!

Wouldn't you notice more of a difference with an exhaust or an ECU upgrade?

meh....

keep the plastic.

it won't transfer heat like aluminum....

they basically dress up your bay....only worthwhile for a MAF upgrade.

I've read somewhere (maybe it was lab test done when Sport Compact Magazine first came out-first or second issue?), hat the Injen CAI delivered more horespower than the the AEM.

Whatever kit your getting, make sure you have a bypass valve, otherwise you may get rain or moisture inadvertantly in your engine during a "freak" torrential storm.

yeah...few friends of mine thought they were cool and had no bypass valve and now their car is in the local junk yard.

Not exactly. They are more against mods that the ricers get thinking it is going to turn their car into a fast and furious car.

Seeing as you are wanting to do some type of ram air system, I would say Injen. I figure that you are wanting to go this route to keep from having to fabricate a custom piece. A reasonable time saving measure.

Hahahaha, exactly.

My car's stock intake is pure cold air. Off to the side of the radiators and drawing from the tire well. Even better than those cone filters.

Ram air?Adapt an impreza style scoop to your hood, fab up some plumbing, and run the air straight down. Cold air, short plumbing, and plenty of room for a nice, high-surface-area, high flow filter.

I think youd have better luck taking everything out before the airbox... Once you get to the airbox, theres not much restriction. hell, if you really want to, just get a Q45 airbox, that is PLENTY big for anything 240....
