What'd you think of the meet?

Overall I had fun, but I had my moments. Managed to piss off a few people with my Houston driving, which sucked and I've apologized partly to the involved parties. Sucked that it rained (damn you to hell Brian!) and I enjoyed driving Fred's new Beast (thanks Fred).

Was nice to finally put faces to screen names and hopefully next time I won't be so burnt-out and be worth actually meeting :(

In the end it was a supurb event and I enjoyed it.

Thanks to Repo, Greg, and Torry for picking me up from the airport.

Thanks to Fred for providing the hacienda Fri. night.

Thanks to Aprille, Dane, and the many others who helped put it together.

Thanks to Bud for driving me back to Louisville.

Thanks to all that showed up for making it an awesome meet.

I had a great time. I can't wait for the next meet. I would liked to have seen some more runs at the track, but we can't control the weather.

Haha, you were pretty tired there Saturday night. Long couple of days for you with working and coming in from Texas. We've all been there though.

It was nice finally meeting everyone that I've been talking with here for the last year. Now if I can just remember face - to name- to screen name, I will be all set for the next meet. Oh well, all-in-all I think it was a huge success and a giant step forward for NICO.

Did you end up passing out in our room?

I was about half awake and Mr.1der was ramblin on about someone needing to hide or something lol.

I had a great time getting to meet everyone. I just wish that there was more time to talk to everyone. All in all the meet was a lot of fun and a huge success with the exception of Brian's (WD'S) naked evil rain dance. Damn him. It was nice meeting you all. I still didn't get to meet a lot of people I had intended to meet but i'll catch you all next time. Can't wait for the next one. I don't think i'll miss another meet like I have in the past. This was just too much fun.

Thanks to all involved in putting it together. It was well worth it.

Yeah, I stopped in and slept there on the floor from about 5-7:30. I couldn't sleep any longer than that though with Krazy Skewrl and Mr1der snoring so damn loud. They did have a nice little rythm going though.

Yeah I woke up to that... Torry looked real pleased to answer the housekeeping personel as well.

In spite of the weather forecast, and the resulting rain, the turnout was good imo.

Strapped the old grocery getter on the Horsepower House' mustang dyno, registered 185whp and 200wtq. Area under the curve, mmm good!

Weather was real bummer, but after driving 400 miles, I wasn't gonna let that get me down.

Left the hotel with the other Maxima guys, and decided to have one of my passengers do a Spielberg production taping the other Max', as I was ahead of them. Heh, they went the right way. I drove 24512545 miles before I could turn around.

Landed back at the HPH after about 40 minutes. Left with Dane and the second group to the drag strip. Our caravan included myself, Dane, white SR20 Sentra, sweet carbon-fiber hood and body kit black/blue SE-R Sentra, brand new Yellow SE-R. Well, we had good directions, and STILL got lost on our way.

Went into a little restaurant to ask for their address (had my brother on the phone doing a Mapquest), the little lady behind the register had to look up their address on their calendar, not many out-of-towners come along asking for their address, lol.. Drove another 452345345 miles to turn around.

During the drive back, encountered the WORST RAIN I've ever driven in. My HTR+'s were literally channeling gallons of rain water in Yellow SE-R's windshield (sorry bro!)

Met back up with the Maxima guys (caught tons of crap about getting lost ...looks at Max H. :D ... ) and we all drove back to hotel. Again, TERRIBLE RAIN. I got the floating feel twice, and just prayed I wouldn't wreck. Ony of the Maxima guys Dave (Fezzik) still has oem Potenza's which are the worst rain tires in the world (maybe the universe), didn't stop us from doing 75+ in the rain.

Back to the hotel, dinner at Applebee's (caught more flack about the getting lost twice thing ...looks at Max H. ;) , suggestion was thrown around I get a Navi system, sorry fellas, not enough nickels in the piggy bank yet) talked to Fred and Dane a bit, voiced that I can't wait for some more meets. All kinds of goofy themes were discussed at the table, decent grub, GREAT company.

Got to drive Dave's 6spd Max, absolute silk. Thanks Dave, and oh yeah, I will be looking at a rear sway bar now :D . Roomed with Brad and his friend, and two of my friends.. $15 a head owns all.

Drove back today 1hr to Louisville, another 1.5 hours to Indy, and the last 2.5 hours to Chi-town.

All in all, wish I could of gone to the track and ran, but oh well, will have tons of opportunities. Enjoyed the camaraderie and companionship of fellow enthusiasts immensely. Appreciate work that NICO does in spreading the word. Good group of people, Dane and Fred are really down to Earth. I will see you guys around.

Lets see those photos/vids.

I had fun at the meet although God prevented me once again from running the 1/4 in my Spec. I think I have actually only run about 10% of the time I try to go to a 1/4 mile track cause it rains when I am on the way :(

And Ferbs, great commentary about our trek around central KY hehe (damn you Chad damn you and your directions heh). My car is silver with a hint of blue pearl btw ;) :pface

I think we should give a big thanks to Dane who put in lots of long hours working on this huge meet and make it a success cause if it wasn't for him it wouldn't have turnoed out as well.

Also thanks to HPH for letting us use their facility and maybe we can do it again sometime.

Also thanks to Greg, Alan, and everybody else who flew in and came in to KY to make the meet a big one. Without dedicated members it would be the same ole people a the meets (not that us who are all normally at the meets aren't cool or anything hehe).

Look out for a future thread with lots o pics from the meet. I personally have slightly over 100 pics for the whole weekend and am in the process of cleaning them up now and will be ready in a couple days.

Hello All....

joined this site after meeting alot of you this weekend. I was the guy with the Black WRX that ran on the dyno, and put down a sad sad 175 WHP.

But i was later informed that after Corey's Evo only put down 160 WHP they found out the dyno was still reading 2WD mode. They swapped it over and corey put down like 233 whp. which would put me around 250 WHP on the mustang dyno.

I am going this friday for a re-dyno at HPH. that was damn embarassing, IMO, for me :(

Wow... me and Bud (Cold_Zero, with the silver 03 WRX) were guessing what you would put down and if you indeed were to put down 250whp then I was spot on :)

Scooby definately sounded good!

Just messing with you Fernando. Keep us updated on those Chi-town meets.I had a great time at the meet, and I appreciate all the hard work everyone did to pull it off. The people at HPH and Mt. Park were very nice as well, please pass along my thanks to them also.

Kudo's to this guy. Faced with mechanical troubles most of us would have been bummed and not had much fun. Bill on the other hand, was still excited and in high spirits all day Saturday. He was even willing to do a diff swap for Fred during the meet.

A great example of the positive peoeple involved with NICO.

I think he had a little motivation to get Fred's diff taken care of to make sure that the car was able to be drifted properly. I've heard stories of the Drift Master Bill.

I really had fun even though i could not put my car on the dyno or even run it. I was hoping for the weather to hold out but it was all good and fun. My wife had a really good time and said that all the NICO guys seemed to be mature compared to other non NICO meets we have been to.

Let's plan for the next meet hopefully the Nissan Altima can get off life support and breathe and boost again

All I have to say is :D

Every meet I go to is better than the last... I had so much fun and it was great to see everyone again. There simply is never enough time but by Sunday morning it’s safe to say I was ready to go home, lol... I think I went to sleep as soon as I got home. Im so glad Summer is on the way and with that comes warmer weather and longer days :) This meet was a great way to start things off... To everyone who put this meet together I just want to give you a huge THANK YOU. I think it was a huge success minus the rain but even with that I think we had a great turnout. I would start to name names of people that it was great to meet but I don’t know where to start... So many awesome people and cars! Hope to see everyone again at the next meet. I only wish we could have gotten all the cars together for some group shots (especially all the 240s :D) but I guess when it rains you can’t do much about it... hopefully next time.

My sister also said she had a great time. I thought it was cool when she said "Oh, so this is what you do when you go to these meets.... Wow, I thought it was just a few of you..." lol. It is kinda cool to have someone from my family see who Im talking about when I tell them about the NICO meets and for a change I got to hang out with her and she got to see the stuff that I enjoy... :)

I agree with everything everyone has said. Amazing meet. The rain just made it easier for my peg-legged 240 to get sideways so its cool with me, haha. Can't wait till this summer and more NICO meets!!!! We rule!!!

This meet was great..... I about wet myself when I drove in to see nearly a mile of nissan/infiniti's, a DJ, huge NICO banners, and Greg saying "hey Wes, we got a parking spot for you up here next to Fred's Q!".....

Makes me want to shed a tear... NICO IS SOOO GOLDEN.. I have never had this much appreication for a brand, or a club.. I never really appreciated the Q until this... Never NOT gonna have one!!

I also grew to enjoy the other nissan's as well, especially the maxima's, and all the other ones... May not be my personal preference in automobile, but it was GREAT...

Also, a lot of car clubs are very resistant to other makes/models.. Not NICO, everyone is welcome!!!

Forte.. I got clips of your G on the dyno.. SOUNDED GREAT!!!! Email me, and ill hook you up... Your G35 is simply spectacular, my top 3 favorite cars there... Still wanna drive a G sometime.....!! They look like a lot of fun...

Thanks Wes! The Louisville Maxima guys are a swell bunch, made me and my friends feel welcome.

Oh, Darrin's G35 on the dyno sounded absolutely sick! Made me weak in the knees!

Up until this meet, I didnt appreciate the maxima's at all.. They are a REALLY tight group, probably better so than the 240 guys and the Q guys (maybe :D )

I also had a great time. I would definately make the drive again. Even in spite of being rained out at the track, I had fun meeting new people. A huge thanks to all of the people that helped to organize this meet! My only complaint (besides the weather) is that I wish I could have met more of you guys. Oh well, I guess I'll have to come to the next meet! :D

I only experienced the portion of the meet at Mt. Park Dragway, and completely missed what looked like a great time at HPH. I'll make it over there, next time.

Only got one run in the SE-R, and unfortunately, I launched in the remains of that Neon's fragged transmission and fluid. The car hooked to the right and I had to get out of the throttle. Got back in it, but only managed a 14.03 @ 103mph, which is WAY off my car's 12.80 performance the last time I went down MPD back in September.

Then, the rains came. Loaded up and drove home.

I did get to meet and talk with some very nice Nissan owners in the short (read: dry) time at MPD. I'd really like to push for some more organized NICO days at MPD this coming spring/summer. Maybe at the Car Wars series? I dunno'.

Had a good time, regardless, and saw some cool cars at the track.

Loved this weekend. Plain and simple.

As far as I'm concerned, there could have been NO cars there - NICO is about the people, and everyone I met was just too damn cool. You guys make this ALL worthwhile. :)
