Please welcome Nico's newest member my daughter Alexis Marie, born 1/17/2012 at 10:39am and 8lbs 13.9oz. I'm incredibly proud of my wife for the awesome job she did. We're both hungry, sleep deprived and exhausted but incredibly happy. I've been told in the past that having a child changes everything, obviously financially and all the typical stuff but more than that you instantly see things differently, your priorities change and I found that to be so true when I saw this bundle of joy come into the world.

When she gets a little more muscle control I'll have to do that, right now she's pretty spastic in her movements. She does the creepy guy smile but we haven't been able to catch it on camera yet.

We had a great experience overall. The only real problem we had was a few days before she was due to be induced she pulled her back getting out of bed (our bed is rather high off the ground) and because she was so close they basically told her there wasn't much they could do. We went in monday at midnight, she got all her IVs around 2am-ish and her epidural around 4am-ish. The nurse that gave the epidural did an awesome job, she had no discomfort the entire time. They broke her water at 7am, and at around 10am they said she was getting close. When it finally came time to push it was only about 10min before little Alexis was here.
She literally didn't even break a sweat and said she felt no pain, no discomfort the entire time, she didn't even get the spinal headache after the epidural was removed. All in all I think everything went perfectly and the nurses were very accommodating, hell even the food there was good haha.

My wife REFUSED to let me take a picture of her after our first son was born. Your wife looks to partially have the same sentiment...lol.
Anyway, congratulations on the birth of your daughter. And yes, having kids changes a lot of things. But, it's one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

She is beautiful. Congratulations to you and your wife. Take a picture of Alexis everyday for the first year. Seriously. You won't believe how quickly she will change.
