that would pointless, they are not stupid, US proxies are easy to find.. i can promise a list of over 1000 alive proxies in a matter of 10mins, and that is including sock4/5

what needs to be done is have only 1 admin account with a alpha-numeric password that can access main page editing, there is no reason for anyone other then the main webmaster to have access rights to any main page editing.

The main reason NICO is being attacked is because vBulletin is full of exploits waiting to be used. and with over 18,000 members and more hits then autotrader every month, NICO makes for a great target... their work doesnt go unnoticed when they deface NICO, on the other hand, if they hit up anothet vB ran forum that only has 1000 members and about 5K hits a month, not as many people will hear about them, its all a big game to the script kiddies, and honestly, if they had the balls, i wouldnt mind challenging them, i know myself and my friends of the past would be up for a game:D

already did so i hear, this is the first time on nico in 24hours, but my friend told me that all the posts from the 20th were deleted... only thing nico can do once its hacked is upload the latest backup... all information uploaded after the last backup is gone forever.

yup, my few posts from the afternoon are gone.

and ip range filtering will just keep the legitimate surfers out.

i can proxy through japan in 30 seconds, as could any malicious user with a brain.

unless its a bored kid with some exploit script.

on a sidenote, i installed SP2 on 5 XP machines today.

they run noticeably quicker, and i like the new firewall interface, wireless networking configuration tools, and the pop-up/auto download blocker.

the network deployment file is a big sucker. 270+MB

The thread/posts that are gone are due to a restored back up from this morning. It's part of the recovery process after being hacked

he's hacking a JAPANESE make forum....

granted, they provide jobs and take damn good care of their employees here, it's just stupid, hell, they don't even make any real gas hogs either (excluding the trucks and that pesky Q...)
