Hey everyone. I haven't been too active on these forums for a while, but I'll keep this short.

I've been working on quite a few local and indie films and really wanted to try to make something of worth lately. I wanted to tell a story that people could really enjoy. I, and my team, decided it would be a fun idea to create a Fallout fan film titled, The Wasteland State. Now, before anyone says anything, yes we're totally aware that fans have created films and series of the franchise before in the past. We know this! The problem is, unfortunately, a lot of times these films, although great on technical levels, tread on a path of failure when it comes to telling mature stories and providing audience participants, both fallout and non-fallout fans alike, with adult themes. What's happening is they're providing too much fan service, isolating half the audience, and telling too many jokes and cartoon-like humor, defaming Fallout for what it really is. I'm not saying these films are bad, but I am saying they're too focused on the joky side of Fallout. That's where we come in.

We're trying to change that. We want to show people that video game movies don't have to "suck." We want crowds to gather that can actually appreciate a story told in the universe of a video game and prove that these stories aren't just for children.

The films estimated cost is $6,500 USD. Ever penny, literally, goes to the film and it's production. The film will have everything from CGI artists to a full orchestral score. The downside, if we don't reach our goal in another 18 days, production halts, the project is shelved, and we never look back.

If the film is funded it will premiere at the William Paterson University film festival in attempt to gain awards and further recognition from online communities and social video websites. A possibility remains that Bethesda (owners of the Fallout franchise) will reach out to us with at least a "We liked it..." message, as they are known for doing in the past. As game designers and filmmakers, that is HUGE resume stuff!

If you want to contribute in any way, shape, or form, please visit http://www.indiegogo.com/The-Wasteland-State. There's tons of perks available. The minimum donation even gets you a "Special Thanks" credit. Don't hesitate to donate! If you can't afford the minimum of $10, you can donate below that mark. Just click on "no perk" and enter the amount you please.

This is a car forum and the script calls for a car! Brand doesn't matter, but we're looking for something much older (pre 2000s) that would fit a post-apocalyptic universe. Even if it is nice, we can use CGI to make it look worn. If you're in the NY/NJ/CT area and want to donate your time, you'll receive a special thanks credit in the film and your car.

Now here's some incentive. If 50 people from NICO donate to this project (the minimum), I will give everyone the perk, plus give NICO, with its banner, a special thanks! It will be big and noticeable. If 100+ people donate from NICO (no minimum) I will give NICO (the name and logo) an executive producer credit. Although not everyone's individual names would be on screen (except for those who donated), NICO'S would be in the limelight! When you "contribute" you'll see a text box! PLEASE STATE YOU'RE FROM NICO!

I really hope everyone knows what my crew is trying to do here and supports art, game design, and especially filmmaking enough to warrant helping us out. This isn't a few kids messing around with a nikon cool pix and a web cam mic, these are professionals looking to have fun while gaining industry trust and acknowledgement.

Note: Last year a film I worked on gained third place and viewers choice out of a large selection of films. One of the judges was an AD for Spike Lee in the 80s. Whether or not you like that director, it's big stuff for people like us! Thanks EVERYONE for your time!

Would my Frontier look good in a post-apocalyptic world? I think it would.

Good question. IndieGoGo refunds the money to every single contributor 100%. If we don't reach the goal, the film can't be made.

Hmm. If my funds are going to be used for a film, I'm going to need to see the script and/or storyboards first. And I'm going to need 10% of the residuals and 2% of the merchandising. ;)

Seriously, though, do you already have a script or is this really a "wing it" production? Creating the world of Fallout is going to be a stylistic challenge and will need lots of good costuming, effects, and props. I take it the main character's not going to be prancing about in T-51B power armor?

The script is complete. I personally don't like to work on "wing it" productions. Again, this isn't shot on a cool pix or some cell phone. We're using multiple high end DSLRS and professional sound equipment. The same goes for anything else and everyone who is working on this project. We have a sweet range of professionals, and a game designer to get the vision across tight!

Creating the world of Fallout is going to be difficult, and that's one of the best parts of this project. The sheer amount of fun to come from the production is going to be great!

You may not be too far off when it comes to characters interacting with power armor... :)

Time will tell.

It definitely will be. Interested in being an extra? Private message me. This goes for everyone who shares a similar interest.

Can you private message me? I'm in contact with a few people, but I would love to see some pictures! Thanks.

Wayside Creations is great. We have an enormous respect for them. I've already contacted its creator for some suggestions. Our styles differ enough where this project will still be very unique. I'm not sure if the rest of my cast and crew agrees, but I would have to say this flick is going to be more along of the lines of Mad Max meets Drive. Just quoting myself slightly, less emphasis on the humor, and more on the mature and and adult themes that Bethesda and Obsidian have offered players in recent years.
