Whats the date on the SLC race? Sounds like I need to make a trip down.nismofly wrote:if they do run the last two races as they plan to, those are at infineon raceway (norcal) and the brand new miller motorsports park (SLC)
i know we have plenty of people in norcal, and MoD at least can be our rep in salt lake, if noone else
btw MoD, MMP is *beautiful,* ive been watching it come together for 18 months and they finally had their first race last weekend, with the AMA
this is a lot more production based than JGTC (now super GT), these guys will be running against porsche 997 gt3 cup cars, the pontiac gto.r's, bmw m3's, and those 3 rotor rx8's that i know ive seen vids of on here
they just ran mid-ohio a week ago...you might find a video on the internet of Joey Hand going end over end 8 and 1/2 times in an M3, that happened in that racensrZ32 wrote:If they run at Mid-Ohio I'll get some NICO people together and go down there in support of it.
ever seen them run before?EZcheese15 wrote:But anyway, I'm actually going to the Grand-Am race on July 30th at Barber Motorsports Park. So uh yeah, you can say I'm a fan!
last weekend in august, heres a link to the event detailsLEMHEAD16 wrote:Whats the date on the SLC race? Sounds like I need to make a trip down.
Um.....yeah......nismofly wrote:its quite a site to see

if not youre in for a treat, aside from F1 the DP's are easily the best sounding racecars out there (imo), the GTO.R's have an amazing sound as well, and try to catch one of the M3's in the garage, to hear a prime example of a wonderful straight 6 idling on a race tune
DP's aren't *that* new. And yes, I've seen them run before.nismofly wrote:i meant the DP's, and the other new stuff, id figured youd seen stuff in the past, but grand am doesnt run in Georgia so i wasnt sure...i guess you could make it to daytona fairly easily
if youre ever up this way i can get you free hot pit passes fairly easily, if youre interested
yea i saw that... looked really bad... good thing the driver was ok... i am in on the FAN BOY club.... the car looks really good.. hope it runs strong... any idea who wil lbe piloting this race carnismofly wrote:

Slick car. Those pics look like they were taken at the South Paddock at VIR. I hung out with a couple of the Rolex teams for a few hours as Audi rented the track the day after the Rolex race. We were setting up as they tore down. Real friendly folks.AZhitman wrote:A few months ago, I announced that Infiniti would be fielding a car for the 2006 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series GT division.

Well, there were some delays and setbacks - It was supposed to debut in Daytona, and then again 3 races into the season...
At present, the team has tested twice with very favorable results. They test again next month and if all goes well.... We will see a G35 in the starting grid for the last two events this year, returning with a full program for 2007!
Team HLM leads the two-car program that brings together Crawford Race Cars for chassis development and Menards Engineering International, who will focus on developing the 4.5 L Infiniti V-8 engine package.
So without further ado, let's see some PICS!!!
If there are any Grand-Am fans on NICO, we're currently in discussions with HLM to be the home of the Infiniti Grand-Am G35 Fan Club... So let's see if there's any interest!!!
lol...i guess thats trueEZcheese15 wrote:

Plus, they are not all that much different than the SRPI cars they replaced, which are also very similar to LMP1 cars in ALMS. And ALMS does run in GA.
I was going to say the same thing. If they have races at VIR, I'd be able to make it assuming I didn't have work or classes. Definitely a sweet looking G.Bubba1 wrote:Slick car. Those pics look like they were taken at the South Paddock at VIR.
They do. The last one was in April.. in the rain. It was so bad the pace car had the quickest laps. Lotsa off track excursions and full course yellows that day.underground57 wrote:

That was an awesome race! Perhaps the most entertaining last lap of any race I have EVER seen!nismofly wrote:that was the grand am cup race
dont you remember? the DP finish with 3 cars going into the last corner side by side, and the ruby tuesday porsche crawford came out in front...one of my favorite finishes of the year
i think it may have rained near the start, but i know for a fact that finish happened in the dry
My bad. It was grand am. A couple of the Audi club guys got bent up fenders as souveniers.nismofly wrote:that was the grand am cup race
