I think it is worth paying a ticket for. This is priceless. Then I will take a picture and a video.

Why? Maybe you are the kind of guy who always self-gratifies for practice before you go out on a date?

Calculated the other day that even in 3rd, redline is 135 mph, will have to get V rated tires first. Still don't know where to do it as tracks are private.

I am fairly certain that Xeroxbunny will be a no show. All mouth and no money. I think the VK45DE can take easily if well maintained.

I have no doubt on the VK taking it but the VH is a different story because of all the internals on some engines (excluding the recent rebuilt ones) are old, I mean the VH can take a red line every now and then but not for 4 min straight.

I am surprised that no one asked about the two identical HP peaks at 5,500 and 6,000, along with the 4% dip at 5750 rpm [all of which vary with intake air temp and underhood temperature.

Hint: aluminum length changes with temp as does the speed of sound thru air

I'll bite.

Which part? There's a lot of aluminum on a VH45DE.

Also why does it drop by 4% half way between the 2 peeks?

I've never run my engine excessively, but today I had to do something I usually don't do. Getting onto the turnpike today was a bit fun/scary because of some speeding jerk in the right lane. When in the right lane, shouldn't you be mindful of the incoming lane?

This jerkoff saw me coming and while intelligent drivers would either ease off the gas and ensure my safe passage, he speeds up. I see that we may have a collision if I don't do something immediately. Slowing down on my end would have caused a rear ending and possibly my arrest for killing the person that rear ended me. (if I survived. I'm FANATIC about my Q and death will come swiftly for anyone who damages it.)

I floor it. The mighty VH made me so proud. That thing is a BEAST @ 5k+ revs. I was well on my way north of 95 MPH when I decided to relax.

Goddamnit, I love my car. 17 years old running on (to the best of my knowledge) everything it left the factory with. (tires, oil, fluids, some injectors, spark plugs and filters excluded)

It's just a pain in my rear that I can't get the insurance coverage I want. I'm so emotionally and sentimentally attached/involved with this car that I would want to be thoroughly recompensed if anything were to happen. Anyone I've talked to about my Q (at least those who didn't run away after hearing me drone on about the Q's specs and why it's better than everything) is always shocked at the relatively low amount of miles on the car in proportion to it's age. I wish I could get an aftermarket warranty for it but the age of the car makes it ineligible for the ones that I've found.

Sorry to go on a rant here. Go Q45!

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

I run mine up to 7K quite often when REALLY F'N on the Z. It does have some sort of rev limiter that kills it around 7000. Cant say for sure, the Z's tach is very inaccurate at higher rpm with the v8.

I love my limiter, saves my butt, as this thing will redline in a heartbeat, SO hard to launch as the variable valve timing wants it to jump before it has moved. Not a bad thing though, feels awsome.

Why Nissan assembles engines within a single gram of rotating weight per cylinder, as long as the compression is near equal and bearings have equal wear then the rotating forces are nearly identical............... Simple!

Obviously a different air flow into cylinder or a dirty injector [changing A/F] can lead to a destructive IMBALANCE of pressure.

All starts with a power balance test to gleen any problems at 1,000 rpms which should warn the prudent owner to not hit redline.

25 rpm variance means a 2.5% ERROR in compression from some cause....can you imagine what a dead cylinder causes.
