Hay everyone, first of all, I guess I should post this:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...87494I've been looking for a 240 for a while now, and recently stumbled upon this one (its local, which is a plus, and I never seem to find a good one on autotrader and whatnot). Now, this makes me really excited cause, well, I'd say its a pretty good price, and I can get a project car that I can work on. I'd only be aiming for about 220-240hp, which as I understand it should be pretty attainable on either a turbo KA or SR. I just want a fairly fast, reliable, fairly low maintinence fun to drive daily driver (I guess turbo and low maintinence don't necessarily go hand in hand...). But, considering that I am a high school student, and already have grades and other commitments to focus on. I think this would be a fun 'project' for me to do over the summer or something, but seeing as I have no mechanical background (what I know of cars is what I've been reading up on NICO for the past 6 months), I don't know if I'd be able to whip up a car in two months before the beginning of school again (ok, probably won't be able to). I do have a friend who has worked with 240's for a while (he's the one that first sparked my curiosity with them), but hes leaving for California sometime soon to find a job there. So, anyone else ever been in situations like this? How have your experiences with something like this worked out? Any advice for me? Thanks a lot. Otherwise, its just another project 240 for any other Washingtonian who is intersted;) .

You might also want to think about getting a manual first, although they are in such higher of a demand. Unless you plan on swapping your engine anytime soon, a transmission replacement is very difficult (I hear) doing it on its own.
