I love those wheels.

But they claim its an "a" and that it has TCS?

The "a" was never available with TCS in that model year.

Also the trunk lid indicates a base (non "t" non "a").Good price so far tho...

My 1991 Q45a does not have the 'A' on the trunk lid. Neither did a 1991 Q45T I was going to buy.

That must have started adding the letter to the trunk after the 1991 model year.

Isn't it supposed to say something about active suspension at the botton of the rear window? Don't see that on this car. Guess they're using the term "active" loosely. :)

Looks nice, seems to be doing well to start at $100 with no reserve.

You're right. That's not an active car. If you look at the strut towers, the active cars look different.

Also, the switch for 'Normal' and 'Height' would be under the armrest.

There was a sticker on the bottom of the rear window but many took it out.

The one way to telling easily is at the trunklid if it says Q45 or Q45a (or Q45t for that matter), and thats of course assuming teh trunklid hasnt been changed.

Dang -- it went for $3950!

I'm looking for another Q45, by the way. I don't know how I missed this one.

What do you guys think about buying Q on internet? I though it was not a safe thing unless you could check it out in person. I've been looking through local ads for 3 months at no luck so far. All them I've seen were more or less flawed for the asking price. There were some good, but the price was... Last summer was much better choice.Yesterday I ran an autotrader nationwide and found much better choice, but it's way to far to go for a test drive :-)

I tend to agree, although I bought "Q2" that way. After talking with the owner at length and reviewing his service records (by VIN printed at my dealer ) I decided it was worth the trip out to get the car. I didn't send a deposit, so I could still back out if I saw something I didn't like or the test drive didn't go well. Already having one of the cars teaches you a lot of what to look for.

I'd advocate that ANYONE buying a Q (or any car) long-distance try to find the closest NICO member willing to go have a look. I know I'm more than willing to take time and check out a rust-free Arizona car for anyone here on NICO!!!

Thanks for the tip, Heath. First I thought this Q was a repaint because of the gold bumper accents, but now I'm not so sure. Was that a factory color scheme?

The mileage is way attractive -- half of what (my) Q-1 shows. The cosmetics are superior, too. I'll ask the guy some questions. It's just the right mileage to have a new transmission . . .

After everything I've done with Q-1, it's hard to think about starting over with Q-2. On paper, I spent the equivalent of $8000 - $10,000 in preventive maintenance on Q-1 in two years. In real life, that's less than $2000 out-of-pocket for parts -- I couldn't/wouldn't afford it otherwise. About to raise that figure to $3000 in the same two years with wheels and tires. (I'm keeping Q-1 until the bitter end, however that happens.)

I feel like I have to do something with the knowledge and skill (?) I got from the training Q. I made only two mistakes I would call serious while working on it, so I did well. I'm counting on familiarity allowing me to work a lot faster the second time around.

Quote »What do you guys think about buying Q on internet?[/quote] Found mine there and after extensive conversations with the owner, carfax and dealer reports, decided to fly across country to view it and get it. I only put $500 deposit on it. My largest fear was that some other (probably NICO member) would get to it first.

Try cars.com and autotrader.com . I think it is only rarely good ones come to ebay. The better deals are with private owners. Look at 1994's also as they are almost identical, and 1996s are perhaps preferable to 97-99 if you want a G50. Better to travel and not get one than to buy one that is not what you want but is located close to you. Budget for warranty, tires, inspection and repair.

I think that's a reflection of the light in the first picture... I don't notice it so much in the second pic, or the back ones. The trim does have a hint of bronze in it from the factory, so if they're using sodium lights, that could be the reason... I guess the best thing to do is ask...
