See, now here's that old discussion again about build dates and Chain guides. I've been told by too many dealerships that the above statement is not true and that they've replaced chain guides for ALL 93 build dates leading right up to the New 94's. The seller said they were still the plastic guides as well. I'd have to error to the side of caution here because I've already shredded a 4:08 diff and two Z32 halfaxles because of "heresay" and Slim's evil laughter ringing in my head when I'm trying to sleep at night......Not gonna happen again.RobertsnewQ wrote:If it's really a 93 it doesn't need the guides done (as long as it's post 8/92 prod. date).
Yep, seen it before, seller has other accounts and runs the bid up, instead of setting a reserve .RobertsnewQ wrote:Oh and as for the auctions, I'd be willing to bet it's a case of shill bidding. VERY common among the car sales people on ebay.

Not that I've ever seen! The hood & fender gaps on my car are still crisper than anything I've owned. The others I've seen are similar. If something's not right it's because the hood's been off before, or something has been replaced. These cars were put together with some seriously tight tolerances.66mgb wrote:Notice that the gaps are off on the hood and fender. Is this common for Q's, because I've seen this several times.
True, but some of the trunk gaps are not as good.RobertsnewQ wrote:Not that I've ever seen! The hood & fender gaps on my car are still crisper than anything I've owned. He's right, but i dont want to be the one responsible for a fluke!RobertsnewQ wrote:RE: 93 chain guides - All I know is what I was told when I called Scottsdale Infiniti. Also what I've been told when I've asked 1993 owners on this forum.
I also have a slightly paranoid hint for you:
Certain people on this forum KNOW the answer to this question but for some reason will not weigh in on it.
Yeah, I have noticed that. When I see it I immediately know the hood has been off the car, meaning some work under the hood has been done. Mine was like that for a while when I first got it. It's not uncommon for shops to take the hood off when working on the engine, so doesn't mean a whole lot. It's easy not to put the hood back on straight and not hard to correct it. I've seen the hood hinge things bend too, so that's another possibility.66mgb wrote:Notice that the gaps are off on the hood and fender. Is this common for Q's, because I've seen this several times.
