I have seen people who paint there own calipers... and after a couple months the paint chips and looks like crap. I was wondering if it is them or just cheap paint. I want the look that makes the calipers look as if they came painted from the factory so what type of paint do i need? i was thinking a latex/high temp type so it can withstand the elements but how can i get it to stay on really good?

they make spray can paint made for brake applications, it's made so that brake dust won't mess it up.

just make sure the surface is clean, and rough it up a little bit.

I used that super high temp engine paint on my Honda and had no problem for the 2 years I've had it done for. Just make sure you clean the caliper really well with a degreaser and brake parts cleaner, scuff it with a scotch-brite pad, and spray it on with light coats, allowing dry time in between.

Prep time makes all the difference in the world.

I used a high temp enamel and put on multiple coats. Came out clean.
