I have to say. I played the demo verison today and it is a very well put together game. The engine sounds, *backfiring* and exhaust tones are almost realistic. If it wasn;t for the gay bodykits and such. It would be an AWESOME game. The drifiting aspect fo the game has improved. Mountain roads and such. Downlaod the demo.. Its worth it.

Man...NFS:U ranks in my top five most hated/worst games I've ever played. Maybe even top two. The game had everything wrong with it that could be wrong with a racing game, and it focused on ricer crap and bling. I can't say that impresses me. The thing that scares me about the sequel is that one of the main selling points is the "reflective surfaces." Uh...I don't know if the developers noticed but ASPHALT IS NOT SHINY!!!!! Everything does not need to be shiney. Its f**king stupid. WHY? All the shinyness does is detract from what very little realism and depth the game has. Plus, what the hell is up with having to glue a bodykit and huge *** wing and neon on a R34 for it to be "cool." Not only is this blasphemous, but it's absolute bullsh*t.
I do not have high hopes for NFS:U 2. But I will rent it and give it a chance.

People People, NSFU and GT series are totally different games. NFSU 2 is getting realistic and is not based on appearence anymore but performance. The sounds of the game are awesome tho. It looks alot better too. It still has the body kits and such, but who says you have to purchase the bodykit for your car?

The game does. The way the respect crap works. You don't get anything good for winning unless it's maxed out. And the only way to max it out is to put ugly body kits on your car. I don't want to do that. That's why I don't like the game. I can't deny that it can be fun at times, nor can I deny its popularity. I'm not saying that you shouldn't play the game--especially if you like it. I'm just voicing my views. There should have been a Maxima in NFSU, then I'd have kept it just to have a badass pimped A33!!
I see what you're saying, but I didnt add all those kits to my cars and I still made out fine. I did use neons though. The point is that you dont HAVE to do all that crap to your car. Sure it gets you more respect if you do, but it is most definately not manditory. I may rice a car up all crazy and what not for fun here and there, but the cars I actually decide to use in serious races are nothing above 3, MAYBE 4 stars and 4 is REALLY pushin it.
NFSU is a totally different game as GEO said. Its not made to be a real simulator. Its a game just for fun. If I want the real ****, Ill just pop in my GT3 or GT4(when it finally comes out).

yeah, I went to the premier party they had for it at irwindale, mostly to watch the drifting, top 16 formula d drivers had a competition, and they were giving out the demo discs there. Game looked ok, snoop and pharrell's performance was pretty cool, and god damn brooke burke is hot as hell. But the gt series definatly pwns this game.
