How many of you guys have played shift?

I had no idea it was a race simulation game, or whatever. I'm actually really enjoying it. Except the drifting is ridiculous. I can go out and drift my s13 easier than this damn game. I'm thinking about getting a steering wheel and petals, maybe that would make it easier?

Has anyone messed with the tuning at all? If so, it would be sweet if you posted your settings and the car type.

I was first playing it on my 360 with a controller, then my gf got me the logitech G25 for my ps3. Naturally i had to buy it for ps3. It is way better with a wheel (like any racing game) but the drifting is WAY HARDER, i hate that part of the game. You can get by without even doing most of the drift events though. My favorite car is the lotus elise.

Yeah. I have "the works" on my R34, and my BMW M3.. I love that when you sell a car, you get all the money you put into it back, they don't rip you off. What is a good wheel, i'd like one that has the force feedback or whatever.

depends on what system you have. If you have a 360, then the official Microsoft wheel is your best bet. If ps3, and you can commit to the price, the G25 is about as good as they get (about $200) But you get metal pedals, a clutch, leather wrapped wheel and a 6 speed shifter.

I have NFS Shift, it's a fun game, better than I expected. I had a 200sx and STi with the works, but sold em both. Not really wanting to "workify" anything right now.

lol that's funny, at first i really didn't like the game but once i started progressing and learning the physics of the game with a high powered car/changing the settings to actually work its fun. After the first two days trying to play it after i bought it the day it came out i seriously put it down and didnt think id play it again. I then had a buddy over that didnt have any game systems and says "hey i heard about shift can i play it?". So i ended up bringing it out and decided to screw with the cars settings that i was currently using in a r"real life" manner that i would lol. Guess what, it drove way better than i expected and was actually fun! The thing of it is you actually DO have to change settings on your car the more power you have to keep control of it and go faster and not have it feel like your driving an RC car.

In fact i have party's every two weeks at my place to have drifting comps on my flat screen to see who can get the highest score with a certain car collectively built for the weekends play lol. Theres a ton of tricks you can do to keep your car drifting but i will admit some of the tracks are absolutly rediculous to try to hold a drift. One of my favorites to try and have group runs in is tokyo sense its a full track and you actually CAN hold a drift if your good enough.

I haven't changed any settings, and seem to do fine. But I wish I knew what I was doing when it came to the settings... Anyone want to help me out?
