I don't mind it. as the price to attend an NFL game (like $20 parking, the tickets themselves, $8 beers and other concessions) is getting well beyond the financial reach of the average fan. Even worse for non-corprorate season ticket holders, who must now pay for moronic "seat licenses"before they even pay for tickets. Until there are blackouts, expect NFL prices to keep rising.

I'll probably never go to another NFL game in person again unless someone else is paying.

To get decent seats for 2 people at Fedex field with good parking passes will run me at least $500, probably more like $750. That's idiotic.

As much as I would love to see the Skins go to the SB, I find it highly unlikely. It's a whole new coaching staff, Mcnabb is a new QB with a team of old dogs that can't be taught new tricks, and the upper management can't seem to keep their noses out the day to day. I've been a Skins fan since I was a little kid and frankly without Joe Gibbs (or someone with his abilities as a head coach) I don't see this team coming close to getting into the Super Bowl anytime soon.
Yeah I forgot to mention this but Im glad you brought it up. As I listen to the radio, alot of prople call in and say "We have a new ragime so I think it will be a 12-4 season". Im a giant skins fan but cmon, keep it real. It pisses me off because when they end up having more loses than wins, those same fans have tons of excuses for every game which just makes us look bad. We still need lots of work just like any other team and just because we have star players, doesnt mean they can work together as a true team that know each other inside and out. But with that said, we do have some star players regardless. Im hoping for atleast an 8-8 season and would be truely satisfied with a 10-6 season as the first year of a newly reformed team. I think we have a descent chance at the playoffs, atleast as a wildcard. But honestly as long as we beat Dallas both times (1 down :woot: ), Im happy.

I want nothing more from the Redskins than for them to go 6-10 with an undefeated division record. thats right. lose every game but division ones.

I am a Cowboy fan, and that Redskin Cowboy game was disgraceful. The fumble before half should have never happened, just f*** kneel it goddamnit. Alex Barron our offensive guard was absolutely awful, with not only the game ending holding call that left me staring at the screen with my jaw open, but many penalties throughout the game.

The Redskins offense was unimpressive to me, actually the whole team was very unimpressive. The Cowboys should have won the game like 33-6, but hey that's why the game isn't played on paper. So the Redskins for sure will be better than last year, but not quite a super bowl team yet. The Cowboys on the other hand I'm not worried about, they have the best defense in the NFC east, and not a bad offense either, granted we get our 2 starting guards back instead of Doug Free and aforementioned Alex Barron. Give Romo a little more time and a lot less false starts and holdings, and he will get the ball to Dez Bryant and Miles Austin (Roy Willams too..ughh)
Sunday is going to be a great game to watch. Manning Bowl II.

It's also funny how so many people write off the Giants every year, despite their winning the Super Bowl in '08. :naughty:

I don't think they're the greatest team, but I do think they're a good team in a very good division.
If the Giants win against the Colts on Sunday night, I will be thoroughly impressed, and would actually give the Giants a slight edge in the NFC east over the Cowboys. Wouldn't count on it though, Peyton Manning will probably have a comeback performance for the ages, probably something along the lines of 27 of 35 passing 410 yds and 5 tds.

That being said, as a fan, the Giants, Redskins, and ESPECIALLY the Eagles can rot in hell. Good luck! :mike

my prediction, Titans take the AFC South.

Bold, sure. We might very well fall apart against the a team with a run defense...like the Steelers

Mike Shanahan is every bit the coach that Gibbs was in the late 80's and early 90's.

But no, there's no way we're Superbowl material this year, of course. I'd be happy with 8-8, because Shanahan is making do with a largely inherited team. In a couple years, so long as he stays and Snyder doesn't interfere, I think we'll be serious late-round playoff contenders.

The spread tomorrow between us and Houston is only 3, I thought it'd be a lot higher than that. If we can pull this off we might enter the season 3-0, which would be great.

My suicide pool pick this week is Dallas over the Bears, so while I'd normally love for Dallas to start their season 0-3, I hope Wade can pull off a win this Sunday.

I have Dallas over Chitown, so yes they better pull it off. Shanahan can definitely coach a team to the playoffs, but the Redskins aren't a team that can get there just yet.

I live in CT, but close enough to either New York or Patriot territory to be a fan. Yet I am a Dallas fan. It's funny, when I was learning about football and the NFL, my best friend and my neighbors were all Dallas fans so I took a liking to them. My father isn't much of a sports fan so I really wasn't brought up on a set team. Same thing with baseball, the Mets are my team because my best friend way back when was a Mets fan.

Also, no, I have lived in the same city in CT all my life, never in Texas.

I've always been curious how Dallas continues to attract fans with zero connection to the Dallas area., especially younger fans, despite an really obnoxious Cowboy owner.

Yeah there are a lot of Dallas fans in and around where I live, in fact there are as many Cowboys fans (a lot of bandwagon fans) as there are giants fans. I would also have to say if a team other than the Cowboys had to win the east, I would want the Giants to win it. Totally despise all Philly area pro teams and, I dislike the Redskins a ton.

FTFY

I have always HATED the Eagles, their fans of the most obnoxious, disgusting, foul mouthed fans in the entire NFL that's the a reason why Veteran's stadium was the only stadium in the whole country that had a functioning court room in the basement along with a drunk tank and holding cells. As far as Dallas fans go, you guys win the "how to be a bandwagon D-bag" award. Yeah there are fans for other teams all over this country, but no one (except maybe Giants fans) are more devoted to a team that hasn't delivered in years for absolutely no reason except to say they're Cowgirl fans. /Rant.

I'm actually from Redskins country (slower lower Hellaware) and have been a Skins fan since the early 80's. I never once faltered no matter how bad they stunk. Then again I'm also not a die hard fan, so I do like other teams (Ravens, Panthers, Bears), actually the only teams I do hate are the Beagles (and I live deep in enemy territory now) and the Cowgirls. Giants can suck it too, beyond those three I could care less.

Oh and the way it rolls in my family is that you root for anyone that is playing against the Eagle's or the Cowboys, unless they are playing each other, then it's OK to root for the Eagles.

As far as the Skins go... I'll give them a conservative 7-9 season with a Wildcard slot, but Mcnabb will choke like always and they'll lose their 2 playoff game.

Courtesy of Wakopedia... "On January 5, 2010, Shanahan was hired as head coach and Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the Washington Redskins. He has the final say in football matters, thus making him one of three coaches who also has the title or powers of general manager (along with New England's Bill Belichick and Philadelphia's Andy Reid.[6] Shanahan was signed to a five-year, $35 million contract.[7] A few months earlier, Bruce Allen was named the team's general manager. It is likely that Shanahan and Allen will split the duties held by a general manager, with Shanahan having the final say" If this is true then then I think we might just stand a chance.

Scared of the Redskins, haha, they will be fighting for the NFC east basement with the feebles oh I mean Eagles. Enjoy the morale victory with that win over the Cowboys, it will be the highlight of the Redskins season.

Riiiiight, at least I know that Mcnabb isn't going to throw a game because some actress or singer broke up with him. How many games did Romo throw away after Jessica Simpson broke up with him. For that fact how many games have the Cowgirls lost because they can't keep their star players out of jail on stupid gun charge?

I don't see either the Beagles (to much my chagrin) or the Redskins fighting for the NFC East basement. I personally think that after today Vick will be bumped to the starting QB position, which can't do anything but help the Eagles, after all he is a much better QB than Kolb and is more than happy to run the ball himself as much as he is to complete a pass. Not to mention he has a lot to prove in this city thanks to his dog fighting record.
The Skin's have the players and coaching staff to get the job done, their only downfall (besides the owner) right now is a matter of chemistry. Mcnabb does love the game even if he is a bit of a bella donna who likes to act like a spoiled 5 y/o when he doesn't get his way or get shat on. having said that you can't introduce new staff and a new QB and expect to go to the big game.

Personally I can't wait to see the first Eagle's - Redskins game, it should prove to be one of the iconic games of the season, especially since the Skin's are the Eagles 2nd most hated rival.

DALLAS SUCKS HARD

There's no good reason why they should have lost that game.

Anyway, Redskins are beating Houston!! I don't think it will last, but it's fun to watch. McNabb aired out a long bomb and then we ran it in a few plays later for our first offensive touchdown of the season. Feels Good Man.

That game was awful, the secondary got jacked up bad today, Romo was off, and the Bears figured out how to beat the pressure the Cowboys were killing Cutler with on the first few drives. So really, we got beat in all aspects of the game today, the only bright spot was the punt return Dez Bryant. Other than that, difficult game to watch. I can't believe the goddamn Cowboy's didn't sign a field goal kicker at all and gave the duties to an untested David Buehler, the missed field goal was a HUGE factor in today's loss. So last weeks loser of the week was Alex Barron with his holding that ended the game and 2 other holding calls that killed drives, and this week Buehler and Romo share the honors, yes Romo did throw for 350+ yards, but that's why stats are so deceiving and games aren't played on paper, he was off.

So I am going to say, ahh it's only week 2 we are 0-2, plenty of time to turn it around, but how many weeks do you give it before you start losing hope? Our best corner (Jenkins) in an already thin secondary is probably going to be out for a few weeks. Witten got his bell rung today and received a possible concussion, he is Romo's go to guy, how long will he be out? Can we win without those 2 key guys? We can't even win with them, never mind without them. Hopefully we turn it around soon, or this is going to be a long season.

I am going to enjoy the look on awe shucks Eli's face tonight when his brother and the rest of the Colts run a train on them. Giants are my defense in fantasy football...I even dropped a player to get the Titans defense in preparation for the Giants getting their asses whooped tonight. Should be a fun game.

I agree, should be a fun game to watch. I don't think either brother with have the look of fear as both teams have pretty good offensive lines.

Damn...you want to see the definition of choke? Redskins up 27-10 after half and lose 30-27 in OT.

Ahaha, this game made me feel a bit better today.

That's typical Mcnabb behavior though. To lose by a lucky field goal in OT is just down right disappointing, but at the same time it makes for edge of your seat games, which honestly is the way every game should be.

When you're up 27-10, you should be able to close the game out, not make it interesting, and not choke. I couldn't even believe how the Texans came back, I kept checking the score and they kept creeping back. Made me laugh out loud.
