Those smileys make me thirsty and too happy.

Quit it

Assuming the Versa runs well for the time I have it, I will get another Versa (or whatever is in the Nissan lineup at that time).

I am really happy with this Tiida - I can see it lasting me another 5 years. So, it will be quite a while before I think about something else. Its ironic cause when I lived in the US my next car would be 'something with at least 300hp'. Life changed, I moved, now that doesn't seem so important any more.

Considering I've only had mine for 1500 miles, I can't say for sure that I'd get another Versa. Then again, when I got my Jetta before this, I said I'd love to get another Jetta when that one died. Well, we can see how well that worked out. I'm hoping to see how the hybrid technology works out in the next 5-10 years and will probably head that route when the time comes.

I guess it will also depend on how many more kids I have. I still hate the idea of getting a minivan.

Maybe next 6 to 8 years I might consider stepping up to buying a truck, not sure which brand.

I'm not in the least convinced by Hybrids. They are far too expensive, and cause untold environmental problems via the very nature of batteries (they are toxic as all get out.

I'm hoping for another Versa! At 36,000 miles per year, I'll know soon how well this one holds up (28,500 so far), and will probably pass it on to my daughter when it has 100,000 miles or so. Then I can get one with the iKey - the only feature I really wish this one had...

That's pretty much the main concern I've got for another vehicle. I like the idea of the hybrid, but there's not enough information on the overall environmental concern. Sure, you may use less gas, but the battery could cause more problems than they're worth. The whole reason I decided against a hybrid this time around is because they haven't been around enough to see the full life cycle yet. One mechanic I talked to said that he's afraid to work on one for fear of getting electricuted.

Only time will tell. 'Til then, I'll stick with what I've got.

Well before the Versa even crossed my mind. It was all about a 240SX. Huge 240 fan. So possibly when this Versa is all paid off, I'll buy a 240 as well. =)

I'm thinking in 3-4 years I'll buy a Rogue.

That crossover thing makes me excited.

I'm planning on keeping the versa for an other 5 to 10 years... after that who knows. I may change my mind about that if the versa keeps having issues and visiting the dealer so often - but I'm optimistic that things will settle down and I'll have a solid car for a long time.

Actually electric and hybrid cars have been around for a LONG time - it's just the few that have hit the streets haven't been overly popular and the oil companies keep new good ideas from being developed. If you're interested there's a great article by Jay Leno in the May 07 Popular Mechanics here about the 100 year old electric car.

I find the statement of being "electrocuted" by a hybrid to be funny. DC batteries are extremely easy to work around. Here's the hint: Disconnect and remove said battery from the system before you work on it. All of the hybrids I've seen have a knob on the batter that you turn that physically disconnects them from the system.

I work with computer batteries all the time. Same thing, just on a much smaller scale. I have NEVER been shocked by a battery in my lifetime. A/C adapters... now that's a different story. And the "A/C adapter" of a hybrid has been around a long time. It's called an alternator.

Anyway, I digress. Next car: Versa. Hopefully this next one will 1) not meet untimely end by Ford and 2) not go in for service 5 times in 3 months. (stupid TPMS system...)

Once the Versa is paid off, I'd like to get a "nice" car, either a loaded Altima or a nice Z.

The next vehicle will be an Armada or an RV, but that won't be until we have enough kids to fit one. I'm hoping by the time we do get to make the next purchase, there will be a switch towards Hydrogen powered vehicles. I find it strange that the government's passing regulation stating that all vehicles (trucks and cars) will need to average at least 35 mpg by 2020. I think it would be more advantageous to pass regulation aimed at getting us off the oil teat completely by the same time.

Well, if the mustang craps the bed, or if It gets non-streetable, Ill probably go with another 240 and a budget swap, or an LT1 camaro.

Haha, let's be realistic here! We all know that's not gonna happen until we're plumb outta oil. We'll use oil 'til the bitter end.
