245 is WAYYYYY to wide for a 7inch wheel... a perfect fitment would be 215 but the next size up would be 225

Damn 245-45 on a 7inch wheel? those tires must look like balloons on those wheels. I would put a 215-45 on it. The next step down from 245-45 would either be a 245-40 or a 235-45 depends if you wanna step down from the sidewall or the width of the wheel

What exactly do you mean by "step down?" And moved to to the right forum.

Oops I meant on a 17x9

What I meant was what's the next tire down from that size? I guess diameter wise.... So 235/45 is the next step down by a lower width of the tire (<---->) but same sidewall right? And 245/40 in terms of next step down by a lower sidewall but same width right? Thanks guys!

the 45 and 40 arent a size, its called the aspect ratio, its the size of the sidewall as a percentage of the tread width

the 245/45 is too tall for the 240 really, the 245/40 would be proper size there, the 235/45 and 235/40 would be the step down, with the 235/45 obviously having a 5% larger sidewall

Hmm, that make sense. So I should run 245/40? Its for my S14, 17x9 +15. Thanks!

Yeah 245-40 would be about the same size as your stock wheel/tire combo. You can also go 235-40 which has a little less sidewall(barely) and is about 10mm smaller in width. The way I look at it is by how much fender clearance I have, I put 235-40 on my 17x9's and it fits perfectly with a minor roll and about 2.5 in drop. Also the 235-40 will give you a slight stretch but nothing major.

Well right now I have about a 1.5" front and maybe 1.3" in rear.

I found some pics of a S13 with 235/45. I like the strech but the sidewall height is too low for me.

the sidewall height is larger on the 235/45

the 245 only looks like it does because its less stretched

17x9 +15 is what you see on the blue car

yes it will need fender work, just how much depends on some other stuff, id say at least a roll, probably more
