Hmmm. I wonder if "domestic made" really means that the mfg facility for the component is located inside the U.S. or if it just means the component supplier's HQ or assembly facility is located inside the US but the origin for the parts themselves could be overseas.

Based on Camry and Tundra being among the most American cars, I can then say American cars are trash.

Just to play devils advocate here... Its much more than just part percentage. They should really do a study on Job percentage... seeing as how that's what really matters.
That takes into account all design engineers, manufacturing facility/workers of the vehicle itself, as well as all the components that go into it.

It would be one hell of a big study though.

i agree with you completely here... i would rather pay all american workers and a foreign CEO than an american CEO and foreign workers(minus the unions)
more money in blue collar pockets

X2
Foreign/Domestic? A lot of games to be played with origin of parts and labor.
If all the components are made overseas, but the final touches are domestic or even just passed through a domestic warehouse, does that mean it is domestically sourced.

Then you have to define "American".

I guess I don't see why it really matters, unless you're a hick who doesn't understand the global economy.

To me, an American would be someone who can speak English (doesn't have to be native language) and works, pays taxes, and lives in America without abusing the privilege.

I do understand there is a lot of stuff about the American and global economy that I do not understand, so I guess my definition may be idealistic...

We've had Ohio Accords since I wanna say 1983.

And Canadian Mullet mobiles with French flags on them since 1967.
