Hello all, my name is Shane and as of now I drive a 2001 gmc sonoma with a 4 cylinder. It is about the slowest thing in the world. Granted right now I don't drive a nissan but that may change before too long, but before I jump into anything I wanted to ask you all what would be best. I'm torn between 3 cars, an altima se-r, an G35, or a 350z. I like the altima because of the aggressive styling and the fact that its a 4 door and so insurance companies just look at it like a family car. Next car that would fit the same price range is a 350z. I like them and it's what the gf wants to ride around in. It's nice but insurance may kill me and I can't hold but one more person. Then my other option is a g35. If I was to get one it would be the coupe. I don't like the look of the sedans. Which I like that it's two door but sits 4 or 5, but downside is that here in the states youre paying double for the infiniti name. So I was wondering what everyone's opinion is and what would be the best option for me.

Thanks for reading!

As you explained, they are 3 very different cars, each with it's own virtues/drawbacks. There is no bad choice on your list so there's no wrong decision unless you pick up one that wasn't treated well by previous owners. The Alti SE-R is the most versatile as it's a real 4 door sedan with real trunk, so for a grocery getter/people hauler , it's the best choice of the three. Certainly fun to drive, but on the downside, it's FWD, and you need to watch for floor plan rust. The Z is a traditional RWD 2 seat sports, not particularly versatile, with emphasis on fun. The G coupe represents more of a luxurious compromise. More room than a Z for both cargo and people (rear seats are tiny, so no long trips for more than one passenger), fancier interior than both, with the same RWD sports car driving experience as the Z. So if you want a daily driver with kids (or you regularly haul more than one passenger) , go for the SE-R. no kids-daily driver? G , weekend fun car? Z. Oh and if you live in a snowy area, go for the SE-R. The G/Z require snow tires if you want to even get around in the snow. Enjoy
