Finally got my next project car out of storage. The poor thing has been sitting in a storage unit in va since I moved from there last april. But my Dad offered to help get it moved so it will be waiting for me when I get back from this deployment. It had over 470 hp before the last owner blew out the driver side turbo. So should be a real interesting rebuild when im done.

Good to hear.

So what are your plans? Any plans for maintenance?

Well im still torn between using the old engine or trying a 2jz swap. If I do the swap I can rebuild the vg and put it in my Cocoa Z. Ive always wanted to have both engines I just cant bring myself to put a toyota engine in the cocoa vert.

Right now there isnt one set in stone. But I need about 5k to get the body, suspension, wheels, and interior the way I want then a paint job. (Same color, just not done by macco or whoever did the abominable paint job thats on there now)
As for the engine budget. No f'n idea. Still looking at the 2jz swap cost.
Btw I plan to do most of the work myself so no labor cost.

If anyone knows of a good 2jz swap thread it would definitely help the planning process

Check out supraforums. There are a few on there that have done the swap and posted their builds. (seattle express, silver z).

This will also probably make your swap easier

Yeah I've seen the engine mounts already. I need a write up or something to follow... im not the most skilled mechanic, or the richest idiot, so trial and error isnt exactly an option. Im still not sure if im going that direction though. Seems pretty f'n expensive.
Im probably just going to keep it a vg build. Seems like a more intelligent move for me until I get the hang of things.
