ok i have these NEx coilovers and they are just too rough for my daily driving. I am about to get another set of coilovers but i think now im gonna get a set of shocks and springs like the koni yellow or agx / tein s. tech springs or eibach springs. i have read alot about the megan racing coilovers and they seem to be a step up from the NEX coils but they are still rated by some as being to rough on the road. i think i might put my car at the track once or twice a year so i dont want to get these for track. i want the new set for DAILY DRIVER ONLY. can i get some suggestion on what to do???

O I C!!

you bought them after you posted, anyway kyb agx + s-tech are the best for DD, spring rates match up really well, plus you can't beat the price. i have them and they ride smooth and can be adjustable for ****tie roads.

just get the megan coilovers streets, set the dampers to the softest settings and be done with it already.

iirc, spring rate is like 8/6 with 32 way adj damping... it should be comfy enough for the street. If you wanna drive your car w/o feeling any bumps whatsoever... buy stock springs and struts then.

yeah sorry about the confusion i did post them and tehn bought them they suck. and now i wan tot get something softer. i ve riden in a car that has the tein basic and they felt pretty good and i was wondering if the megans will feel the same way too. or should i go with shocks and springs seperate i pretty much know they will be comfortable.

as far as I know, tein basics are like the worst coilovers (in the well known name brand category) as far as performance goes... you'd only get them for ride height adjustments. They aren't damper adjustable. Their spring rates are 6/6 front/ rear. Megan streets are 8/6kg, so just take that into consideration on how stiff the ride will be since you've already ridden in the 6/6.

If ride height is all your looking for, by all means, just get the tein basics... just don't expect track like performance out of them.

yeah this car is not going to be put on the track but maybe once or twice a year. so the 6/6 and the 8/6 difference cant be that much of a difference and the fact that you can change the dampering on the megans is pretty cool too. still tuff decision cause i already spent money on these suck azz coilovers and if im spending 899 might as well wait a couple of more months and get some better like silk road or apexi or D2 setup.

is there anymore feed back on the spending roughly 899 for the megans coils or should i wait and spend more on another set. I know that the shock and spring combo will ride a lot smoother as I had koni yellows and s. tech springs on my crx and man did it ride comfortably. Im probably gonna get the megans but just want to hear some more feed back.

what i really hat right now with these nex coils is that when riding on the highway and coming up to the part where the road is seemed together for a bridge that bump makes me fly up and hit my head on the roof, lol. maybe im just to tall but geez it sucks. after going on highway and going over a bump my car seems to have this see saw motion instead of absorbing the bump. plz i have read about the megans and they seem very good for the price.

and lastly since i have riden in a car that has tein basic (which was the 2-door honda accord) will the megans feel about that same??

D2 is the biggest load of **** i have ever tested.......

NEX is just another cheap chinese coil-over they would be just as bad as the D2's guaranteed. I spend a lot of time in china and taiwan sourcing products for companys and i see so much of this dodgy coil-over crap it drives me crazy.

We bought back 10 sets as samples from various manufacturer's and ALL failed to provide adequate damper after only 10-13mins on the shocker dyno.

Stick with european or well known Jap (surely thereis some good local usa manufactured gear) but you guys seem to be flodded with the same low grade chinese garbage we are....

hey man,

instead of Tein basics, go with STANCE basics.

they even come with camber plates and ride alot better.
