So I've been thinking about whether I should 5spd swap or buy coilovers first for my S13 since my struts are blown. However I found a set of slightly used coilovers on craiglist, the brand is NEX, I couldn't really find any reviews on here about them, but I presume they're just cheap coils. But, I can afford to buy both them and my 5spd stuff at the same time.

The car is going to be my summer/nice day daily but I plan to put a lot of track time on it to.

Anybody? I've found a little bit of info on them and some have said they're about the same as Tein basics. As much as I'd like to throw some money down to be the guinea pig I'm not sure. Only reason I'm thinkin about going cheap is because my struts are all blown and I didn't really feel like going half the summer riding on blown struts waiting to save up for Stance GR+s or something on that level. I suppose I could maybe get used OEM struts and just replace the bad ones for now though.

You can get a pair of KYB GR2's for about a hundred bux.Unless you are deadset and incredibly stubborn about it, I would advise you against that purchase.

tracks and coilovers don't necessarily have to go together

OP, no, don't get them. Coilovers aren't something you want to cheap out on, I mean, these are the things that suspend your car for goodness sake. It can be the difference between having an accident and not having one.

If I were you, go for a good spring/ strut combo, something that's reputable. They're cheaper than buying coilovers, but 10x safer than getting cheap coilovers..

oem struts aren't meant for anything other than oem springs.
