We had a article posted here a week or so ago that claimed the G37 would be available in G50 form. With a 400+HP V8. In my opinion, that would be the better way to go. Why copy the GT R? Nissan would be competing with itself.

I agree...they should just sell the Nissan GT-R at both dealers...and maybe come out with a "G50" version later.

Folks:

Ther ar eno ifs and buts about it. The G50 will happen somehow, somewhere. I am readying for the sale of my G-35 Coupe because in three years time, it wqillbe obsolete. Makes me wonder if I really need to drop a supercharger in it or just save that money for a more reliable G50.

What do you think?

Interesting...I'm having the same line of thought about FI in my G.

If there was a "for sure" on the G50 or whatever, I would probably agree and save up for the new car. However, that will be another 5 years of payments...Definitely a hard decision.

Nissan could cover a wide range of performance car market with four cars, and not compete with itself.

Nissan 370Z (shorter and lighter than current Z, a true 2 seat sports car. ~$30K)Infiniti G37 Coupe (As is, luxury touring sports car and everyday driver. ~$40K)Infiniti G50 Coupe. (V-8, world class Grand Touring. ~$55K +)Nissan GT-R (A True Exotic ~$70K +)

the way i see it is that id like to see some sort of CL/6-Series Killer in our stable. The "G50" could go after the m3/S5 range. In either case, there is talk that the powertrain may be seen again in the new Q. Should be nice in any iteration.
