So i got my RB swap done on Wednesday and been working out some small kinks on it. Heres a list of some issues im having that im not sure how to work out. Engine is a RB25 S1

1) Car starts up and idles fine when its cold but after its warmed up and i shut the car off, i have to sometimes give it some gas to get it to start again. Timing is at 15* and fuel pressure is at 43psi. I havnt converted my tach over yet but its reading a touch over 1000rpm which should be around 700-750rpm. Also something that might relate is that when i do get it started again, the idle bounces a little till i drive it some. Only bounces from 1100-1500rpm on my tach. Any idea whats causing this?

2) When the car warms up and comes down to normal idle there is a squeeking noise coming from the front cover. Its got a new timing belt, tensior, and idler on. When you rev the engine the squeek goes away. Any idea what this might be? *Just noticed after you drive it the noise goes away entirely till you start the car again*

3) My check engine light is on but it has a wierd pattern to it. When im applying throttle the light has a steady blink then when i let off the gas the light just stays on solid. I went to do a diagnostic test of the ecu but my ecu doesnt have the red LED to light up. Is there a diagnostic port somewhere (95 S14)? Also why do you think the engine light is coming on in this wierd pattern?

My rb25 does the same squeeking noise in your first video.

Mine isnt as loud but it started right after my new timing belt/idler/tensioner install. I hope we get some answers other than "its a new belt".

Don't know about the squeaking noise but I hard wired my consult port from my ecr33 front clip. It's really easy and works just fine. There is a wiring diagram somewhere on the internet. With your fuel pressure, what psi did you set it to with vac off? With a new setup, checking for boost leaks is a must.

43psi w/o vacuum.

My tach signal seems a little funny too. Like on the uncalibrated tach, when it gets near 6k+rpm the rpm just wants to stop even though the engine is still revving. Whats this sound like?

OMG I HAVE THESE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS!

#1 - I'm thinking it has something to do with the ECU temp sensor. When I unplug mine, there is no change in the idle. This is even after I replaced it with the CORRECT Z32 one. I think there's something wrong with my wiring.

#2 - Although mine does it a lot less than yours, I thought this may be due to my harmonic balancer wobbling a bit. I never really found out why it does that.

My coolant temp sensor is stock rb25 as far as i know and my wiring was done by Mckinney. This could be a possibility. My temp gauge never goes above 1/4 way.

Neejay i saw you posted in Zerolifts thread the other day on zilvia. Please dont buy mounts from those f***wads. They are such newbs id love to see their company get shut down

But back on topic.

Matafied I hope you are correct and I hope it goes away after the belt gets a bit worn

I dont know. Im thinking maybe i should have oiled up the tensioner and guide a little before putting it on. Its not a big deal as of right now.

Im trying to figure out why my check engine light keeps going on and off. Its doing it when idling now. I might just pull the damn light from the cluster. It runs fine but has a bad miss above 5500rpm under boost. Its got all new plugs and i cleaned all the springs and contacts of the coil packs. I think im gonna sauder a led on the ECU and see what codes come up.
