:( iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii havent recieved my rims yet. I dont know what's taking these ppl tooooooooooooo long to get my wheels to me. Its paid for, they took it outta my account, it just has to "clear outta their system" i got my lug nuts, my wheel locks, and the spacers (5mm + 10mm) to see which one fits best.... (i noticed someone mentioned gettin both) ....lol but i was a lil ahead. i got them from ebay....15 bucks for each set of 4 spacers. not bad....

I promise as soon as i get them mounted, you guys will be the first to see.

everything here is informational, i love learning more about the Q. I replaced the alternator, fuel pump, power steering pump & res. and power steering lines ...all replaced myself, saved me a ton with labor. so my car is kept up good mechanically.

i'll keep yall posted about the rims and pics.

Sorry to hear about your delay in rims....As you know I have not had the best of luck with rims either....as the wheel shop told me that they are on back order for the size & finish that I want. Well searching ebay tonight I find the exact same pair of ADR M-Sports that I had ordered for sale and the dealer is located right here in Miami with me!!! Go figure. Now I am really pissed about that dealer telling me that they are on back order for another 4 weeks and then I see them on ebay...the exact ones I wanted. All I can figure out is that he is not actually a licensed distributor of the rims and has to go through somebody else who is....but they had a ton of different ADR style wheels on the showroom. Go figure....I am probably going to wait for the ASA AR1's to arrive at the end of May as I just put on a brand new set of 4 tires and having trouble justifying all new wheels right now...well that is at least until I get my new 4.08 rearend installed and that is if UPS ever decides to find the dang thing as they lost it in shipment. Bunch of screw ups out there lately and I seem to be finding every one of them.

I've been looking at tires, for the 18 inch rims..

I have only been considering ZR rated.

Anyone familar with the new Toyo Proxes S.. or something ot that nature... they have a 96 load rating, but are over 200 a tire.

The bridgestone potenza s02 looks nice as well.

Nobody seemed to like the pilots, and upgraded to the bridgestones..

I want to try out the new toyos...

When I get my new wheels I am going with the Bridgestone S02's or S03's...both seem to get good write up at Tirerack.

I also go with these sizes:

245/45/18 (front) on 18 x 8 with 40mm offset275/40/18 (rear) on 18 x 9 with 45mm offset

I can't wait to get a 275 rear on the car...I want to see if it will still break traction from a dead stop with that big of tire on there....of course a new 4.08 rearend will not help things traciton wise...thats the reason for the 275 fatty.

Arn't those the M5 tire sizes?

I was considering going with these sizes as well. I can't believe you break traction, with a stock Q. I guess I could say I do, but not enough to effect times (I dont think)

I can spin my babies back there from a straight forward stop for the first foot with no problem and depending on the pavement first 2 feet. This changes drastically if I have somebody sitting in the back seat to no spin what so ever.

I did not know that those were M5 sizes :D Well if they are good enough for the M5's then they will do me just fine. I really liked the load rating also on this setup...96 front and 99 rear. I can't beat that for a setup going with 18" wheels. The overall height is 26.7" and the fronts are the same as the rears...both at 26.7" which I think is good for balance and the extra 0.7" in height should not do any harm except put a little less miles than actual on my car :pface

What's the diff between the s02 and s03s.. I am assuming the s03s are newer and therefor (hopefully) better?

96 and 99.. hot damn, that's prime..

From what others have said the bridgestones seem like the way to go.. My baby loves all the jap equipment she can get her hands on :)

How much for the front/rears.. I didn't see the s03s on tire rack, but i was just doing a q45 search..

Siwicki.

Good luck on your rims bro, i really feel for you, it happened to me once when i was wanting a certain type of rims, and the shop told me they cant get them till next month. I saw for sale somewhere else and in stock.

I think it has to do with the supplier of the dealerships, they're not normally authorized to distribute aftermarket rims, besdies the OEM rims (17's, 18's, 19's, etc).... he was probably tryin to get them thru somebody else but that somebody couldnt get them, so they were crap outta luck.

It happens with me at work too, we'd need to order a medication for a patient, and our supplier would say its backordered, but another pharmacy can get it. it happens allll the time.

anyhow, dont sweat it, be patient, you'll get the best. :D

let me know what happens.

thanks for your support Ron....I know that it will all workout in the end..but it is really frustrating getting there and after I get my car all done...I will never get rid of it. Too much hassle to do this again as fun as it is. I have go girls to go chase versus UPS and rim dealers to b_tch at.

The Bridgstone S03's are on the website...cost is around $225 a tire (I think). Both the S02's and S03's are highly rated and I have no idea what the differences are, but toe 03's seem to be higher rated by the customers.

Rob - It's good to hear that someone's Q is able to boil 'em a few feet.

FYI, with my 4.08s, I can now scorch my 255/50VR16's (200 treadwear rating) on dry pavement approximately halfway to all the way through an intersection... Perhaps 20 yards? Nice thick white smoke...

Also, Rob: It's a VERY popular misconception that adding section width increases traction. However, regardless of the section width, the footprint (total square inches of interface between tire and road) remains the same. It's very complex, but basically, as section width increases, the "depth" (measurement front to rear) of your footprint decreases proportionally.

And before someone replies with "Yeah, smartypants, then why can I spin my 175/70/14's for eight miles before they hook up?", consider that the coefficient of friction with a "granny tire" (which probably has a treadwear rating of 800) is MUCH different, tire pressure is typically higher, and the percentage of void to tread is much higher. Void = bad for dry traction, good for nasty weather traction.

Holy Sh_t!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!!! Laying rubber all the way through an intersection. That is freakin sweet, I love it. I needed to hear some really good news like that before I went to bed tonight. I can't wait to get my 4.08. That has got to be an amazing rush. I have never owned a car that could do anyting like that and have always wanted a car that could do some long tire burning runs. Yahoo!!! Congrats on the new rearend and I guess you have it all broken in by now....I will be shipping my original rearend out there late next week if UPS does not find my original one that was suppose to arrive. That is so awesome...I can't wait. I guess I had better get some new tires quick.

I like you comment about the section width stuff...true it is what you said and I think that the 275/40/18's should do nicely.

Yep - The part I conveniently left out for someone else to add in was that the added width WILL have some effect depending on tire pressure.

Aw, hell - who really cares? All I know is that they'll look cool!!!

p.s. Keep in mind you are defeating some of the purpose of going with a lower gear ratio by adding .8" of height in the rear.... Not a significant amount, but it will increase your final drive ratio.

p.p.s. I better find some 18's soon - After a few "joyrides" today, I'm already due for some new rubber. :)

Ohhhh hellllllllllllllllll no...

I called the a$$holes today to check the status on my auction. They said they recieved the money order (purchased thru western union site and sent out from w.u. too) 8 days after auction ends. They only "hold the rims" for 7 days...even tho there is nothing in their auctions regulations or policies sent to me from them stating their 7 day limit. They told me today they sent back the money order. and "they are sorry." aint that some shi*t i already bought the tires, lug nuts, wheel locks, valve stem covers and only thing missing was me getting my item. what the hell should i do nowwwwwwwwww??????????? i'm pissed as hell cuz they didnt even notify me about the late reciept of the money order even tho it was sent out 2 days after auction ended from western union website. (it takes 2 days for them to approve it).

danggggggggg itttttttttttttttt

That sucks big time!!!!

You might try getting eBay involved and see if they will help (not high probability, but worth a try ...)
