hi, newbie here.i had a sr w/vtc installed in my car at a sop i thought knew what they were doing.the motor was installed and now it starts and runs ok but will not rev over 2k.the shop owner thinks its the mf since it was not the correct one,it was sourced from a s13.now i got a maf from a maxima which the guys at jim wolf said would work the ecu is also at jw getting reprogrammed for the maf.could this be the culprit?ive been told it could be the crank or cam angle sensor.right now im not too sure what to do the swap is paid for and all other expenses are paid for by the shop but i really want my car back.are there any shops you guys may know of here in san antonio that are reputableand actually done more than just a few of these swaps.please ,any thoughts would be greatly apprieciated.

Well if the ECU is programmed for the maf then I would look into the maf wiring. But if it runs and everything I would think the maf would be the problem. I had the same problem with my motor when I got it and I wired in a Z32 maf and used a SAFCII.

yep, a mafs would keep it from revving past ~2k. Yeah s14 and s13 sr's had different mafs. If it just cuts you off at ~2k, it's the mafs without too much of a second guess.
