Newly installed spec clutch / flywheel

Hey there, have about 1000 miles on my stage 2+ clutch and steel flywheel from spec. Since it's installation, when trying to shift in high revs, the clutch does not want t disengage all the time. I.e. I push the clutch in and either the shifter won't release and move, or will not go into gear. My technician friend said maybe the flywheel isn't thick enough for the slave cylinder to push it back to the cluch. Cant remember exactly what he said.

Any thoughts?
