Car still has to be transported to me, but the hardest part has been taken care of :)

Waiting is fairly difficult as well, but the light at the end of the tunnel is more then visible..

Thanks.

Here are the details:

1992 Q45A Geoff Brabham special edition, built by Stillen.13,xxx miles

Commisioned by a well known Nissan racing shop.

Finished 2nd at the Nelson Ledges 24 hour endurance race(prototypeclass)

Served as official pace car for a few years, afer that

Parts..

Everything Stillen made available for the active Q is on this car, except the FSTB.

Full Stillen Body Kit (Front air dam, left/right side skirts, rear valance, and wing)

ECU/TCU.. not sure if it's tri mode.. I hope, since they are no longer available.

Stillen exhaust (will be removed and replaced with BRM headers/exhaust.. will post it for sale on ebay, unless anyone wants it here)

4.08 diff.. orig diff is installed currently, 4.08 comes as spare.

JWT intake (will be removed)

Skyline brake kit with SS brake lines

16 inch wheels..

The racing shop did some things to it.. Added a roll cage, removed the hvac system, and used the condensor as a transmission cooler. They removed the hood badge, and cut intot he hood to allow for additional airflow. I am going to undo all of this, and return it to it's original state.. I must have my mt fuji logo..

Car comes with spare actuators, a brand new transmission, a blown transmission, and some other misc spare parts.

I'm post up all updates and new pics in this thread..

Upcoming Projects-----------------------

Remove stickers.

Remove roll cage, and have the carpeted areas that were cut into recarpeted.

Send blown transmission to John at importtransperformance. I think I may have him go all out, as opposed to just a valve body.

BRM Headers & Exhaust

Considering 18 inch wheel/tire package

ASC680 Active Suspension Controller

JDM transmission cooler.. as seen on yahoo jp auctions

Huper optik tint on every glass surface

Dynamat extreme added to all 4 doors. Debating on floorboard and additional surfaces. Depends on the labor involved removing the seats etc.. which I here is a major PITA

There have and will continue to be members who help out with my car. I would like to say thanks!

AZSKYGOD- Brand new OEM Calsonic compressor & clutch assembly. Great price, and saved me from getting an old unit. Thanks so much!

RSI- Your help and hard work has been much appreciated by anyone that is a Q enthusiast. For being guinea pig on the headers/exhaust, and all your input, I say thank you!

Miniman- You gave me the motivation to continue to seek out active parts.. I think I am going to steal your fab idea regarding the ashtray.. Well by steal I mean wait till you do it, and copy you exactly.. :)

Hitman- This is your board, none of this would have been possible without it..

Of course there are many many others who have provided tidbits of info that have saved me and others time & money. I've been on many automotive related forums, and I can honestly say this is the best for a multitude of reasons... probably because you're all old mature bastards! :)

Kind of lame group hug type of deal, but I appreciate all the insight and valueable help you guys have put in this far, and will continue to put in.

Cool. I'll offer it to nico first, of course....

As long as the BRM headers/exhaust pan out, I will be doing the swap. I want to match up the headers/exhaust, that's the only reason I am getting rid of the exhaust...

I made the request, but I didn't want to wait any longer...

Kill or merge my other account, makes no difference to me. I don't want that name anymore, that's all I'm concerned with.

I really like that kit - one of the VERY few that's attractive for the Q.

When's it arriving in AZ? And what's the delay?

It's paid for...

The delay is getting it from Ohio to here. I can't drive it as it isn't titled. so I have to have it transported. The racing shop is delivering it to the transportation company June 14th. It will then take two more weeks to deliver it to my house.

I wanted to hold off in case this CF driveshaft group buy happened. I only have so much $$ unfortunately, so I have to do one thing at a time...

Gotcha.

I'm still concerned about the titling issue - it'd suck to have bureaucracy stand in the way of a cool project.

I have a sneaky suspicion you'll have lots of "sitting" issues to contend with before any mods happen - It'll likely need lots of seals, gaskets, hoses and rubber bits replaced after all this time...

Hope you got an FSM and one of our parts suppliers on speed dial!

Yea, I'm skeptical of the titleing process.

I was going to have a title bond done, but the DMV informed me they can take care of all of this, themself.

I have to get it inspected. If it passes inspection, I have to get it emissioned. If it passes emissions, the DMV will title/register the vehicle.

Don't worry if the roll cage comes out, it'll go to miniman. Duaines Q is the ultimate representation of a G50 with a roll cage. I haven't seen Duaine on here for ages, I hope he is safe :)

I have an FSM and an owners manaul, that I bought. All you 90-93 owners, look in your owners manual, under interior care.

Does yours say ANYTHING about leather? Mine says wool moquette, and mentions nothing about leather. Very strange, since the manual was printed in the US, and appears to be strictly for the US car.

Greg,

I think you are right. I figure $1,000 or so, just on replacement hoses/spark plugs/fuids.

Can't forget about the plastic timing chains either.. although I figure I have some time to worry about this. Hating having that in the back of my mind..

When I had my 91Q I didn't know abotu the plastic timing chains, but I found out about the consequences of them. I dropped off my car to pinnacle, and never saw it again :(

Definetely pays to be proactive when it comes to Q maintenance.

Well, at the very least we have a shop locally that has a lot of experience with doing the chain guides for cheap...

Under-plenum hose kit, all the fuel hoses, radiator hoses and belts, plugs... Maybe the same shop can do all this at once.

Brett (desertq45) was very pleased with them.

I'd second that notion...that kit looks nice while maintaining the original profile without overdoing it. How much do one of these kit costs these days (I'm a little lazy on hoping onto the Stillen website). I wonder if the kit hangs well. I've seen two many aftermaket ground affects packages (not specific to Nissan/Infiniti, but in general) that slowly deterioate over the years.

I'm curious on what you actually mean by "cheap". I wonder if it's reasonable to consider driving from northern California to that shop if it's dirt cheap to have all the aforementioned work done at the same time...

SFBAYQ,

That's a long drive, I've made it many times!!!

If you want things done right, I can totally dig that..

However if you are willing to drive, might I suggest Jerry tucker?

There reputation is impeccable from what I've read, sort of the T3 of the west..

4855-C Ruffner Street San Diego, CA 92111

Surely that would be closer then coming all the way to AZ!!!

Regarding the body kit..

I'll let you guys know how it looks. I have been in love with the kit when I first saw it man many years ago. It looks very OEM. I think this is honestly the best thing stillen ever made for the Q.

The car above is probably close to 15 years old, so I'll let you guys know how the body kit has held up. I really like it. It looks very OEM, and really makes the clean lines of the 90-93 look sportier. I wish I had a pic of the front air dam, but I remember it looking pretty good. The rear valance has me intrigued as well. Stillen has given up on their G50 product lineup, so it's hard to tell what all this costs. They still list the kit as being available, but only have prices for two of the options...

$299.00 Sugg. Retail $249.00 Our Price STILLEN WING INFINITI Q45 90-96 The STILLEN Sport Wings are made form glass-reinforced plast... All All All All All Call For Pricing Call For Pricing 90-3 Q45 LT SIDE SKIRT ... All All All All All Call For Pricing Call For Pricing 90-3 Q45 REAR VALANCE ... All All All All All Call For Pricing Call For Pricing 90-3 Q45 RT SIDE SKIRT ... All All All All All $424.00 Sugg. Retail $390.90 Our Price 90-93 Q45 AIR DAM ...

All All All All All Call For Pricing Call For Pricing 90-93' INFINITY Q45 BODY KIT

Since they probably sell all of 0 of these per year, I'm sure you could get a nice price on the full kit. It's for 90-93 only..

Ryan - I'd be curious about that kit... Seems like the pricing would be rock bottom on any remaining kits.

Somewhere there's probably a few in a dusty warehouse that someone would be glad to be rid of.

Euro Imports was the shop i was thinknig of. Brett (desertq45) and Arshad (firstq) have had work done there, as have several others I can't remember... I'll be hitting them up as soon as I'm out of warranty... It's sneaking up.

Ah yes euro imports...

I was spending 2-3k a month there for longer then I would have liked. First I thought it was the car, then I thought it was the shop, then I just realized it was old parts needing the be replaced..

Overall I was very impressed, but I would request it be worked on by only a certain person or people.. They will do free consult checkups as well..

If you just drop your Q off, you may not have it worked on by one of their infiniti master mechanics.. I'm not sure who/what there names are.. they did the work on my car fine, but from now I, I would definetely request only the best work on the new ride..

Next mod is Tein springs and detailing the brakes (sanding the rusty hat's and painting them and the calipers black). Then wheels/tires, then exhaust. Check the last post in My New Grille thread, I'm going to offer bidding and shipping services on Yahoo! Japan auctions for the hard to get JDM sweetness!!

Really... I've had good luck with mailorderjapan.org, but I would always be willing to give business to nico first.... I just placed quite a larger order...

If you could get larger parts I think you would have good demand. Most of the people don't want to deal with larger parts..

I'm probably going to just deal with smaller parts. Something her parents could easily receive and re-ship.

ninja edit: That mailorderjapan.org doesn't come up for me?
