Meet Moose and Missy. 16 week old Beagles.

Image

We picked them up yesterday from a breeder near Altoona PA. Moose seems more fearless than Missy at the moment but the breeder thought Missy would end up the dominant one. Moose introduced himself properly to my son by peeing and pooping on his lap while he held him. (Fortunately he had a towel on his lap :chuckle: .

I'll get a few better pics up.

I -hate- beagles -- they get away with mischief because they're too cute to get mad at. :D

Yours appear to have extra long ears, quadrupling their cuteness.

First I absolutely love beagles, most people hate them because of their bay, but I love to hear them especially when they are sniffing down a rabbit or squirrel. I used to run mine with a guy that trained his to track deer.

Second, they are high energy balls of energy, especially if they are strong with the hunting genes, they will run for days and if you aren't careful they will do anything and everything to get out of a fenced in yard to track. Mine were outdoor dogs and we had to put them in a 6 ft high kennel with a fence on top and a fence 3 feet down around the perimeter because they would escape and I'd have to go out in the middle of the night to go hunt them down.

Third I absolutely love that you have a dog named Moose, just make sure you get Missy fixed ASAP, they are horny little F'ers, I had 2 when I was a kid (13th bday present) Buck and Annabelle, both pure breds from the same litter, needless to say Annabelle was pregnant with her first litter before she was 6 months old, and she wasn't the greatest mom, but she could track anything in her sleep. Buck was just stupid and followed her just to keep his nose in her crotch. If they are going to be indoor dogs, get both fixed, though I hate to see a male dog immasculated.

LOL, yep these will be mostly indoor pets, no hunting, We plan to get them both fixed. This is actually our third pair of Beagles over the years (First Bubba and Bubbette, then Max and Maxine). All have been wonderful dogs. :bigthumb:

Pretty easy to do. My wife woke me this morning for the first time with our fur covered alarm clocks. Nothing like waking up to a beagle tongue on the cheek and another in/on your ear.... :dblthumb:

+1

My wife's mom used to have a Beagle. That thing must have had a digestive tract made of cast iron lined with teflon. He ate one entire corner off their garage from the outside in. But damn was he cute.

I gave mine a rope to chew on. The rope slowly disappeared. One day I was outside using the poop scooper to drag chunks of rope out of his anus while the neighbors watched. Fortunately, he passed it through his system.

Good fiber, I guess?
