I looked under my new G35 sedan the opther day and was amazed at the design difference of other cars I have had and seen

Extensive use of aluminum, everything tucked away neatly, almost looks like it came from a scifi show or something

Comparing it to my J30 it is like a stealth fighter to a biplane

I guess this is the wave of the future as newer designs eventually make it ot the other cars in time

Sorry for the trival post I was just amazed at the design

Underbody aerodynamics are a big thing with G35. Aero package adds more deflectors and stuff.

Im sure it's very pretty indeed....but calling the J30 a biplane...ouch, that just hurts.

I think of my 92 Q as a gracefully aging luxury Learjet.

LOL! When I think back to repairing my old Dodge Slant 6! The Valiant was a termed "compact car" but I could actually sit in the engine bay and work on the car. Everthing was exposed and just sitting out in the open.

Weight reductions in order to increase CAFE levels led to everything getting more and more compact and tightly packed.

Vimy, parents had 67 dart coupe with slant six

My dad would put me on the engine and my feet would dangle freely. If I had been big enough I could have stood up

Only problem with that engne was the rainy day I do not want to start problem.

Wanted that car for a long time then my sister got it and ran it into the ground. She could not figure why white smoke was coming out of the car and continued to drive. Turns out she never checked the oil and it was dry! There went my dreams

Talk about space though

Those days are over and the cut knuckes etc are par for the course now

Bring me your G35, and I'll give you an old Dodge Dart, with the slant 6, and even throw in a case of oil, and filters, just because you are a NICO brother.:D

YOu wish!

Just like wines, dreams improve with age and I am now living mine!

G35 sedan is a dream to drive, sit in, best combo of power, performance and luxury since my J30 and a great price to boot.

Juicey, your sister must have really run that car dry. All a slant 6 needed was a tablespoon of oil to keep going. It was a great yet by today's standards, totally obsolete engine.

I started mine one day when it was -39C on the first try and it wasn't even plugged in. (block heater):pface

My first car was a Dart, with the slant 6. It was a total piece of crap. The guy I bought it from, for $25.00 was from Syracuse, NY, and the bottom 1/3 of the car was literaly gone. The driver's handle pulled through the door, the gas tank rusted off, the rear spring perch rusted off, the mirrors literally fell off, from rust. You could see the road, while driving, and had to be careful not to loose your pencil through the hole. I had to wire the door shut, and the brakes failed. My girlfriend's dad would not let her ride in it. That was cool,so we drove his Mercedes.

I finally sold it to a junk yard for $50.00, when the car would not go in reverse, anymore. The day I sold it, the motor was still running like a sewing machine.;)

Now, talk about Infiniti's, or move to the Slant 6 Forum:D

Sorry man

Is there a forum like that? I guess the people would be too old to use the comuter anyway

G35 is the best, only thing I really wish for in it would be the following

out side driver mirror fade when rearview does with the automatic feature. Have on my Caravan and it is really sweet!

A real econ mode for the AC. I am used to the J30 when Econo meant no AC. The new one just cuts back on the AC for economy. Have to press AC button or something. Guess I am just used to the J. G35 ac is very good but nothing beats the J.

A little more power steering boost when the speed is 0mph.

These are not gripes just thoughts which go away evertime I touch the gas pedal!

Just yankin' your chain. You started the thread.

I guess I am a little jealous of the whole "G35" thing. I keep a borchure on my bookcase at work, to remind me whi I work so hard. I always do a G35 search, on eBay, just to see what they are selling for, used.

I noticed my Q45 outside mirrors have tinted glass, and the glare is not so bad, I wonder if Infiniti just forgot, or spent the development money elsewhere.

I love the retractible shade in the rear deck of my wife's I30t. It is a real glare killer at night. I wish the Q had that.

Yeah......I am loving the new styles too. But some of the old ones are just too good to get rid of. Personally, I think the newest generations of the toyota supra and mazda rx-7 were 2 of the best looking, and not to mention best performing cars ever made.

they definately spent the money on the chassis, suspension, and drive train!

I have not made my first payment but when I do I will not cry just that the payment allows me to have this car

Jeff, I'd say I'd sell you min ein a few years but that may wind up being like 10 years.

Do not go test drive one then because the urge is irresistable

Peace
