The 240SX is no more. Long live the 240SX.

Anyway, general consensus is that there's no way Nissan is bringing the 240SX back.

Was that your question, or did I misunderstand something?

no that's it, because if there is no longer a 240sx than that means they will never come out with a fastback version again. Thakns alot.

It wouldn't be a S16. It would be an "sx"

I really hope they bring the S-chassis back to life...it really was an amazing piece of engineering on Nissans behalf.

Nissan and all Carmakers are making too much money on SUV's and trucks in this country. Why build an S-16 or what ever when you can cash in on the Frontier, Titan, Armada, Xterra, Murano and the FX? I am sure if the 240 had been outrageously popular in the US, they would not have killed the model. I agree it sucks; I don’t like SUV's and trucks the size of houses. But that is where the market is.

yes, however all trends come to an end. i think the "suv craze" is a trend, like the american muscle car craze. there's a growing demand in the states for sporty cars and the japanese manufacturers see it. they're introducing the EvoVIII, STi, GT-R, bringing the Z back from the dead (i wouldn't be surprised if the Supra makes a comeback) i certainly think there's room and demand for cheap sports cars like the S16 (and the AE86 :D).

I agree Nomuken, but right now SUV's and Trucks are king in the US. But the sport compact car craze pails in comparison to the SUV and Truck craze. And this trend doesnt look like its going away soon. Even the big three are starting to send this trend over to Europe.

Look at Nissan's current line up.MaximaAltimaSentra350ZTitanArmadaQuestMuranoXterra and PathfinderFrontier

That is 4 cars vs 1 minivan vs 2 trucks vs 3 SUV's. Its a lot different than Nissan's line up three years ago.

And I still don't see why everybody and their grandma needs/wants a SUV or a truck. And don't say its for cargo/passenger room, because around here the only people I see driving SUVs are either 20 year old chicks with NOBODY else in the car, or people tryin their damn hardest for the bling factor. Both EQUALLY stupid IMO. I'd rather see two really hot chicks in a del-sol anyday (seems to be the fad around here :boink)

I was watching the speed channel when they were showing the Detriot Car Show this year. When Nissan released its PIck-up truck, they said something about NIssan was going to go bankrupt but they figure this new pick up truck w3ill pull them out of their slump.

I doubt nissan would go bankrupt but if they did it would be because of the new plant here in Canton, MS

I don't know about anyone else but I know I need a truck should have bought one instead of my Z but whats more fun a truck or a project car if i want to get dirty with off road I will be more then happy to hop on the 4 wheeler and take off

Agreed-The SUV trend started because it was a status symbol. Bank in the early 90's if you drove a SUV you had arrived in your life and you were showing it in the car you drove. It would be cool to see a study of how many passangers drive/ride in a SUV compared to a sedan or minivan.
