Hello Everyone, I'm sure many of my questions have been asked time and time again on here, and I hope you will all be patient with me. This site/forum was recommend to me by one of the guys at Victory Nissan in Chesapeake, Va. This is a father/son project ! I am an old school muscle car guy so I am completely new to the 240SX craze. I am working on a 89 240sx that has had a CA18DET installed in it. The car has a 5 speed transmission. The CA18 is missing the turbo and supposedly needs a rebuild. I also recently purchased an 89 240SX parts car which has a recently rebuilt KA24E engine with an automatic transmission. After looking at some of the forums and tech articles about engine swaps and the fact my son wants to have a DOHC KA. I'm thinking it would be much easier for us to just pull the KA24E and install it in place of the CA18 since I will have all of the SOHC accessories, A/C etc.. MY QUESTION IS: I need to find out if the 5 spd transmission that's hooked up to the CA18... will fit the KA24E...? Thanks in advance for any guidance anyone can give us... we are trying to keep from spending a fortune on this project and get it on the road hopefully by Labor Day 2008.

Yes, but not directly. You need to swap the bell housing for one from a KA transmission.
