sorry guys i searched the threads but im stil a lil confused.basically i have a J30 LSD that is not installed into my car yet, its just sitting alone. i can't figure out how to change the differential oil. Do i unbolt the housing (the 8 bolts around the differential rite?) ? im sorry its a pretty rediculous question but i haven't done any car work and i really wanna learn so I'd appreciate if someone could help me out. also i dont wanna mess things up by unbolting something i shouldn't....hehehe

thanks guys~

On what would be the passenher side there is a screw/plug that a 1/2 inch socket will fit into. Remove this one first, this is the fill. On the bottom is the same type of screw/plug but this one will have a magnet on it (inside).

Torque for retightening the screw/plug will be in the manual in the rear section, do not have manual with me. Be sure to clean the magnet before putting the drain plug back in

While you have it out of the car, check all seals and replace as needed. Alot easier to do with it out than having to drop it later.
