Hello all, I am new here to the forum and I have a new 2008 Versa and was wondering if anyone else has ever rolled down one of the back windows of their Versa at highway speeds.

I made this mistake and could not believe how freakin loud the sound was. I thought my ear drums were going to bleed.

Aside from the paint chips on the front and the creaky windsheild when I hit any sized bump, I absolutely love this car. It's a CVT with all kinds of pep. Not sure what gas mileage I get, but I tell everyone that it gets about 38. What do they know? It's fresh powder white, tints and spoiler with tan interior.

Open the window in front of the back window a bit and you'll get rid of the roar. I find if I open both windows opposite me about 1/4 to 1/2 way it works the best. Not too loud, and a nice breeze coming around the back...

When you blow over the top of a bottle when its empty, its the same effect. Basically yes, don't just open the back window. Its basically all 4 door cars, not just the Versa.

Many newer cars are like this (the booming noise when you open a window) because they are so much more aerodynamic than older cars were. ON the older ones, they had so much "dirty air" flying around everywhere that they didn't do the "blowing on a bottle" effect like the poster above said. If you drive around a lot with opened windows, try those vent shade things that attatch at the top of the doors, those should help some.

As already stated, most 4 door cars will do this, not just the Versa.
