I have a 07 Grand Touring with the 306hp 6spd combo and the mods you can read below and I love it. Not quite as fast off the launch as i would like but after 30mph once you get deep in the gauge it moves pretty swift. Good luck.

I have a 2004 350z 6MT. From what i know/have heard, the 2007+ are awesome but there are not yet a lot of mods for them. Some 06's burn oil, the 05 is fine, 03's and early 04's had some issues but pretty much all the cars were fixed (recalls). Mines a 2004.5 so i am in the clear. as far as power the 03-04 has 287hp 274 torque. The 05-06 has 300hp and 260 torque. 07+ is 306hp and 268 torque. As far as 03-04 compares to 05-06 people that have owned/driven both say the 03-04 is faster off the line (obvious) but also say it feels faster all around. Spins tires easier shifting gears, and all around more fun to drive!..... The true test would be for you to drive one/some. This will also determine if you will fit to your comfort. As far as the G35 goes, you have more luxury items such as leather heated seats, nice stereo, and a back seat. If you are looking for a daily driver the "G" would fit you better. The comparison is very close - they have the same motor, but the Z has the strut braces and as far as that goes, handles like a champ. The power on the G35 Performance coupe is 287hp 274 torque, and i think this carried all the way thru 2006. I don't believe they upgraded the G motor until they came out with the G37 which has 330hp ( i don't know the torque rating), but you'll have to look into that unless someone else can correct me on that. I hope this has helped, now is time to go drive some cars!

some 07 Z's had a recall on the slave cylinder but they fixed that problem as far as i know...if you want power and handling over luxury, get the Z...the G is like a 4-seater version of the Z and it has more luxury stuff in it..good luck on your choice....

G 05-07 manual models got the rev up engine with higher redline which gave 298hp.

Z and G are essentially the same car, they just serve different purposes. If you need a back seat, get a G.

All of the VQ35 have the same hp just different ECU tuning...it basically comes down to performance or luxury.....which do you prefer?
