I recently purchased a 2006 Infiniti M35....I am very impressed with the car so far but I have a few issues. The person who owned the car before me must have done the Navi/hack on the car but I noticed the map stays in one place on the GPS. I did the more in depth diagnostic on the car and everything is in perfect order and functioning except it shows that the parking brake is on when it is not though so could this be causing the problem? Need a master mechanic and looking for some nice fun Nissan/Infiniti meets in the Broward area. :dblthumb:

Try to trace where the switch is. You will have to get behind the glove box probably to do so but if it isnt in plain sight that would be my first step. On my car with the hack, the map moves but the triangle isnt always accurate unless I stop and it catches up. You might have another problem.

Thanks Maxillas, I will try doing that. Is that a picture of your car in the picture? Where did you get your Front Lip from?

I had a similar issue but it wasn't the nav hack, rather the parking brake switch. Try pulling the parking brake forward and see if the light disappears. Nav typically takes a few seconds to realign.

Definitely a good point on pulling the parking brake forward before digging in to find the hack wiring. Also, for the record, when the nav hack is done right, the parking brake won't show as on when it isn't on (I'm not sure it will show as on when it is on, but it might). However, I've seen people complain about the light being on after doing the nav hack in more than one place, so yours could be done wrong.

I have a permanent hack done (Jumper wires) instead of a switch because I don't have factory NAV. I do see the parking brake light on when engaged. In reviewing the schematics the NAV hack only removes the parking brake connection (Which is effectively a grounding effect) to one pin and permanently grounds that pin the other just opens it up, I believe that is the one from the Unified Meter Amp telling the system the car is moving.
