Hey all,
I'm new here and to cars in general and was wondering if you could lend some advice on where to start with this whole thing. At some point I would like to build my own car and would greatly appreciate any help that you would be willing or able to give.

Welcome to NICO!
Thats quite the feat you're looking to accomplish. Do you have any experience with building go-karts or lawn mowers? Starting on a small scale to understand suspension, engine, and bringing together a drive train could give you a cheaper starting place than starting to build your own car from the ground up.
Or is it that you plan on buying a car and building and modifying it to your liking?

Either way, there is a lot of knowledge on this site. A few folks have built their own rally cars or baja cars in college, too.

Yeah, if you could be more specific and detailed with your goals, we can probably help you get started.

When you say "build your own car", do you mean start with a car with no engine/trans, and just do your own thing, or do you mean you're going to literally fabricate everything except the tires and glass?
