Hello all, I'm Stephen and I'm new to the forum, and to the 720 pick up life. I haven't bought it yet.

But i'm in the process of buying an 85 720 king cab with 120k on the motor and 221k on the body. It's a 2wd 5 speed.
My plans are to lower it, and hopefully eventually do an engine swap so I can drift it on weekends and such while being a DD.

I will post pictures tomorrow. It's a little rough looking because of some faded paint. But it is really old. I'm picking it up for 800.00
I'm really excited. 1. Because I've never owned a truck. 2. I've seen a lot of awesome 720's and I hope mine will be as awesome one day. The guy says it runs great it just hesitates a little so he's changed the fuel filter tomorrow and it needs a battery but I think it's a great deal.

Welcome to NICOclub.

These trucks are super easy to work on. If its hesitating I would change out vacuum lines one by one til its done. Its probably got a slight vac leak. I would check all spark on the intake side, just to see what condition its in. Does it have the stock carb? We had a member here do an amazing carb breakdown, I would recommend reading it over if you are not familiar with carbs.

Other than that do general maintenance and it will treat you well.

For lowering you can start with torsion bars or just get some drop spindles and drop blocks and leave your torsion bars alone, or a little bit of both.

Yeah I saw some spindles on jcwhitney I want to say, I think it would be safer than the torsion bars. I'm about to go look at the truck in a few hours, I'll get some pictures and such.

I kind of read over the carb thread yesturday. Figured I would need to read it sooner or later anyways so I think I will do that now.

It needs paint bad don't judge. And I found out that is is an 84 not an 85. So my name is irrelevant

It needs a new tailgate handle. And the guy is giving me some taillights he has. He has like 4 of these trucks. This one is in the most poor condition. But had less miles on the motor. But the paint and interior can be fixed. So I'm not to worried about it.

I do believe it has the stock carb.

I'll get better pictures, but the engine block is really clean and as far as I could tell after we finally got it started it ran good. It sat for 6 months or so before he started it again.

I'm not even going to post pictures of the interior. It needs new seats bad. Anyone know what other seats fit from other nissan trucks? I may ask a lot of questions as I get further into the truck. But for now I will do my research until I get to something I need help with.

ALSO..the shifter is loose is there a way to fix that? I mean it shifts fine..it's just really loose.

mine has a good amount of play but I don't think it vibrates very much at idle or load, so I guess its okay. As long as it doesn't grind or pop out of gear, I think you are good.

Also about the name change PM a mod, they have Blue names. They can probably help you out with a different name and change you login to reflect it.

Although you may need 10 posts first, I don't remember.
