Traded my colorado loved the body style but it was typical GM spent a great deal of $ in aftermarket mods and it was still a dog. A good looking dog but the new frontier is a blast and fell in love with it. Don't want to modify it beyond warranty but would be interesten in hearing what others have done. I am no steanger to turning a wrench and have 2 Porsches sitting in the garage my wifes boxster which I leave alone and my Cayman S that will smoke a stock 911. I have ordered a AFE Pro dry Filter don't do the oiled ones and AFE makes a jam up performance filter. I plan on doing some sound insulation it is good now but it will be needed if I go to an performance cat back. Had a Volant on the colorado major $ but thinking maybe Borla sinve this is what I have on my Cayman. Any opinions welcome as well as good parts companies.

It sounds like you've got more money than most of us on here do at the time. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just puts you in a more exclusive/less trafficed area of these discussions. Most of us have D21 hardbody pickups. You've got a D40 I think.

Sound insulation can be a great idea with a loud/boomy exhaust, the resonance can be unbearable sometimes, and delightful at others.

Did you have the I-5 or I-4 Colorado? I test drove an I-5 and I thought it was peppy and powerful, at least compared to my truck.

Are you trying to lift or build this thing for hardcore off-roading? If so, I think http://www.nissanoffroad.net is the authority on that one.

I had the I-5/3.7 l. and at 1st it was not to bad my 05 was the same way but after about 10 k things started going sour. I never put many miles on the 05 and to tell you the truth it was quieter then my 08. When they increased the power I thought I would give it another shot and it was just like before. We took it to El Paso and it sucked big time that is when I chipped it out and put the Volant catback on it. Shifted harder and ran a bit better but then went to Georgia to pick up my daughter and up hill same thing the final straw was going to Amarillo pulling a little uhaul it came close to overheating all the way up there and lost a lot of power. And I did not mean to come across like I have $ man my wife and I push it to own what we have. I have been pretty blessed and the mods are going to take a while for me to come up with the $ to do them.My Frontier is an 09 and we maxed out on trade as well as got 3k off the truck bought it at the right time i guess. It is an LE and I am just learning about it so I don't really know what body it is considered. Again man I hope I did not come across as some rich dude I ain't Ive just been fortunate that is all. Almost forgot my CS has a Borla on it and mt wife has to wear earplugs to ride in it and the Colorado was irritating to her as well.

Don't ever feel like you have to apologize for what you've worked hard for and earned!

As seang mentioned this forum seems to be more Hardbody and D22 (first generation Frontier) oriented for whatever reason. It's bad "netiquette" for me to post a link to another forum, but if you google for "Frontier forums" you'll find one that's very active for the newer Frontiers. It's kind of like it's own special "Club"

Welcome to NICO!

Thanks dude sometimes talking with this box can come across a littler out of context. Just didn't want to come across as hey look at me you know the type. No I paid with blood for what I got and am blessed that I have a wife that lets me do what I do and still hang around. I am the ultimate gearhead and have owned more cars than yrs. of life. I love exotics and speed I flew in the military and the closest I can come to that feeling again is in a high performance car. I drive like I flew from my rear and kickin it in the *ss is my rush shifting and cornering. And the truck the Chevy was a wuss this thing has a set and I love it.

You can go on line at planetporsche or the Cayman club and see some of my rides just look under member lkl777
