Let me start out by saying I know very little about cars and engines etc. But I've just recently bought a 1995 R33 GTST that has an RB25DET (about 85k miles). I had a few friends look it over and as far as I've been told, the only real mods it has is a Blitz boost controller, coilovers (not sure what kind), 2 plate clutch and that's about it, other than the Tommy Kiera body kit.

The reason for buying this car is 1) that it's mostly stock, 2) I do have an interest in cars and I really want to learn more about it and 3) I'm young, single and have a reasonable about of extra money to put into building it.

I've come to find out that I want a good balance between a reliable car that runs and is fun to drive and something with some power. I don't plan on racing or taking it to the track at all so I don't need anything over the top. I think I'm aiming somewhere between 400-500hp preferably on pump gas. (thoughts on this?)

I'm looking for some opinions on what to do. Any links or articles that will help or are good educational material. Any personal experiance would also be great. But I really need to know where to start, what parts to start shopping for, what brands are good, maybe a quick shopping list of what it might be when I'm done.

Just a note, I don't plan on doing this myself but watching/learning and participating where I can.

I would be more than happy to post some pictures of the body or engine, if anyone is interested in seeing or needs to know more about the set up to guide me.

Thanks in advance to all for any input.

if you're aiming for 500hp then you should definitely plan to upgrade the turbo, injectors and ECU tune at the very least.
