Newbie -Serpintine belt is cut

Hey guys im gonna go look at a 240 and its saying that the serpentine belt is cut. Well im thinking that its a 20 year old car and thats the reason y it got cut. but can thier be any other reason for the belt to get cut. and how much do they run for???? thanks for ur time

240's don't have serpentine belts.....

no way. So the belt that has to be cut is the timing right. Or are thier others?

There isn't a timing belt, these cars have timing chains He's probably referring to the belts that run the Water pump, alternator and etc. There are going to be two, three if there is A/C.

LMFAo dude i told u i was a newbie. Chain is way better than belt anyway. more reliable

Shaun or err..Richard is right. Sounds interesting though. If its a 240 with belt problems then its an easy fix for pretty cheap, even all three. I just recently changed mine all at once @ 100k....and they weren't even broken, just weathered. They were the factory originals. So save that 240! If indeed it is one.....
