Hello! Just last week I bought my beautiful new 2008 Versa hatchback S - my first new car ever, and I'm lovin' it! I'm thrilled that I found these boards.

I have a question - I'm interested in getting a mask for the car. I've never used one before, but that is where I first got rust on my last car (I keep cars TILL THEY DIE). I was all set to purchase one, but I read online where you are supposed to take them off after *each* rain, dry your car and the mask completely, etc.

Now, this makes sense - I imagine water collecting underneath that would NOT be good - but seriously, this sounds like a pain in the a$$!

If you have a mask, what is your experience with it? If it is recommended to do this, maybe it's not as time consuming as I think?

Opinions?

Thanks so much!

welcome to NICO......as far as the front end mask go most are fairly easy to put on and take off...they can help with rock chips and such, but can also cause damage to your paint if debris gets underneith it and can lead to color distortion of the paint undernieth....there are other products like clear film paint protection kits (Clear Bras) heres a pic of one

Thanks for the welcome, and thank you both for your input! Where would I find these clear bras, and would I be able to get it installed (I'd have it looking like crap, I'm sure). I just discovered the Nismo Shop - maybe I'll look there.

If you can locate some automotive detail shops in your area, then I am sure that they can provide you with an estimate to install a ClearBra on your Versa.

Here is what I found on E-blah. They say it is pre-cut to fit.

Just type Versa into the search bar.

Dealer usually has a hook-up on an installer - Ask them to do it as a "side job"... Or check with a tint shop in your area.

+1 for the ClearBra - MUCH better than a mask.
