Hi all, just wanted to say I'm glad there is a great collective of CA lovers out there, and thanks for spreading the knowledge! So I have a few very random questions so please bear w/me:) I am all about power to weight ratios. Does anyone know if there are any manufacturers that produce lexan windows for coupes(S13)? I am so glad there is such a great aftermarket available for us. I am looking into the c/f doors. (the trunk/hood/fenders all ready done). Anyone know what the lowest weight anyone on these forums has gotten down to in a 240sx(coupe/hatch?). I'm trying myself to get down to below 2400.I know maybe someone has done this/possibly posted this question before so don't kill me Dee! But I have a few questions on making a little bit of power. I am only looking to get 250hp to the wheels, I don't want a drag queen, or anything for street racing. I just want a good balance to be a little faster then average, get in some auto cross/drift events here and there. So far this is the setup I have and is not tuned as of yet so don't kill me! In the fuel department I have a walboro 255 lph fuel pump, and a sard fpr. I have an Sr T25 G, that goes into the stock downpipe and some sort of aftermarket down pipe 3 incher that is wide open as in not cat no exhaust(as I don't have to deal w/emissions, don't kill me either green peace lovers!). I have a modified EVO 8 fmic, and an hks ssqv. Now I was also considering buying the tomei 256 cams, or larger if I can find them(which I have seen on occasion). Now the question I have is I'm running stock injectors(but I am atm running stock boost as well). Should I upgrade the injectors to the DSM 450's/do the cam's?(and also add the supporting management systems). Or just the managment system, and injectors since all I'm looking for is 250whp? Thanks guys/gals

GTR 444cc inj, nistune or a HD Stage 2 chip and push some more boost and you should be around 250whp. There is no need for cams really, just extra spent money that wont do all too much. I think idealy they should be done around the 300whp mark if im not correct.

That turbo should get you to 250HP just fine. You'll want to use 440ish sized injectors as Nick stated. The cams would be superfluous. You'll probably loose bottom end with them and you don't want that for autocross. The Norris Design stage II chip is very nice and should help to wake the motor up as well, but if you've got a good local shop that can chip tune on the dyno, that would be a better route.

Everything else sounds like it's in line.

Cool thanks guys for the info, so far everyone has said go nistune. I'm not a big baller though, so I might just go the chip n tune route as I'm pretty sure there are about 3 shops here with dyno's that can do it. (and then eventually when I can afford it go nistune). Thanks for the heads up on the Gtr Injectors too.

Oh yeah and in regards to boost/with a good tune, to get to that 250 mark how much would I need to push? Maybe 12 psi? Or would it be less? I've heard 15 is about the limits of that SR turbo, and that by then it's generating way to much heat... (and I still think that I'll never even have to come close to that number to achieve the power goals I'm looking for). On the Sr-turbo(t25g) when does the boost kick in? I've heard anywhere from 2k-3k?At some point I'd like to go with a GT28rs, for the ball bearings because I hear that's one of the best combinations. But I'll save that for down the road. Everyone has me all freaked out about the rod/crank bearings now:( I've heard it's a pretty big issue with the CA's. Think I should get mine replaced? The motor set I got was said to have around 60K on it... I never tore down the engine to inspect everything. But that worries the crap out of me because it's my dd, and having to remove it and then have machine work done is not so much in my budget right now. Anyone know what causes the bearing faliure at a faster rate? (Besides the obvious of adding more power). Maybe revving the piss out of it all the time? Or age, or design flaws, poor oiling? It makes me wonder though if things aren't too out of spec if I can order some stock ones(but better aftermarket ones) and just slap them in there without the machine work, or if and it probably would cause more issues? Thanks again

you should read the stickies... it'll help answer a lot of questions. 14psi is the most that's recommended with the sr t25... any more and it's beyond the efficiency range.
