hey, im tired of my first car, a 97 hyundai tiburon. first the problem with that is its a FF car. so im looking at a 240sx. anyways i had no idea u could stick a skyline engine in the 240sx, guess u can, just never thought about it.

1. if i get a 240sx, and i wanted to do this, what year 240 would be best? would this be a great deal of work? like a lot of work/money?

2. since u can get the rb engine in the 240, could you get the awd too?

3. and the last question for now is whats the difference between the rb25det and and the rb26det, besides the obvious. is it easier to put one engine in the 240 than the other?

any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

these are brief, general answers. search and just look around.

1. i don't know. it doesn't seem to matter a lot.

2. anything (including AWD) is possible. unstable-hybrids quotes it at $15,000+ with engine and install.

3. rb25 seems to be preferred over rb26. it fits without rerouting the steering and some other stuff.

for more info try searching or reading the posts in this section. there aren't that many of them.

your best bet for the swap is the RB25. no customizng the steering shaft, costs are considerably less, more accessible, etc.. It all depends how far you want to take it (i.e. how much HP do you want?) But the styles of 240's depends on you. alot seem to favor the earlier S13 (89-94) while a smaller group like the s14(95-98)
