Hi all, I'm new to this forum and have a quick question for all of you.

I am considering the purchase of a G35, maybe an X. Would you purchase a pre-'06, late '07, or '08 (if there is any difference between '07/'08)? or would you buy a used M35?And why?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to Nicoclub!

You've certainly came to the right place. You'll find everyone here is very helpful with anything you need!

I might have to wear the scarlet letter for saying this,(Sorry in advance to my G35 friends) but if it were me, I'd have bought the M45 or M35 as I like it's style and amenities. You certainly will not be disappointed with the G, but I would buy as new as possible. You can probably get some good deals on the '07 sedan as they've already released the '08. I don't believe there is much difference between the '07 & '08 but I'm sure someone will chime in. Either way, you are getting a great car, but you should definately test drive both to make sure you get the one that fits your needs/wants the most!

Keep us posted and be sure to upload pics of the new beauty when you lock down a deal!

Why would you buy an X? You live in Texas. No need for all wheel drive.

Welcome to nico,

Buy the newest possible. Go for an o7 or 08. Not much of a different.

M45/35 is a different car/. Feel different, biggere more of a grown up brother. I drove the m35 and 45 and for me just did not cut it. It was too luxurious. The G is lot more sporty. But that just me.

After all it comes back to you what you prefer.

After testdrive you'll ne better which one you like.

Welcome to NICO!

+1 on the test drive! You're doing the right thing by checking out the forums. As far as what car to get, you need to ask yourself a few questions.

1. Do you want a sports car or a luxury car. Thats the difference between the G and M series.

2. Do you want the convenience of 4-doors?

3. Do you plan on driving in snow/rain a lot? All-wheel drive would be better than 2-wheel drive.

If you get a G, the 05-07 coupes are pretty much the same. Minor differences...search the forum for specifics. The 03-04 have their own unique issues...some good, some bad. The sedan is the same, except that the 07 is a different engine that has been getting rave reviews from everyone! Then of course the 08 coupe is the next generation...more displacement, better interior (same as the 07 sedan)...but different exterior styling that may or may not bet "better".

Like others have said, get the newest you can afford!

off roading baby

on another note i would go with the 07 g35s if you want a g, it puts the m35 and m45 to shame imo.
