Wife bought this past Saturday...

'08 Versa Sedan S4-speed autocruisefloor and trunk matspower packagesplash guards

After we got home she asked me if a keyless remote could be added to her Versa. I decide to check nissanusa.com to see if it could be purchased and I see that a keyless remote is included the power package. I'm going to the dealer this morning but has this happened to anyone else?

Just wondering - how did you start your car? Did they only provide the key (and no FOB)? If they only provided the key and no remote - I'm sure it was an oversight.

Our Versa hatch came standard with 2 keyless remotes, these open and lock the doors only as well as the trunk door on the hatchback, they also incorporate a panic button. They are not remote starters however !

I supect that if you did not receive them somebody forgot about giving them to you during delivery. Should not happen but obviously in your case it did !

The S keys are not the same as the I-key ... they are keys and remote fobs.

If I'm not mistaken, the keyless entry is part of a seperate package, and not a standard option. The dealer would have no incentive to "hide" these from you, unless they offered to sell you the remotes for some ungodly amount.

After some research, you are right... your car should've included two remotes. Get down there and kick some @$$!!!!!!

The power package on the S is what gives you the keyless entry. Probably an oversight, you need to go back to the dealer to get them.

Thanks for all the comments. Just got back from the dealer and they honestly seemed like it was a mistake, our salesman has been there less than 3 months. Makes you wonder how many other people in my area have been cheated out of remotes because they told us the Versa was one of their hottest selling cars.

Cliff Notes: The '08 Power Package does include 2 keyless remotes.

For clarification... these are fobs in addition to the keys, and not I-Keys, right?

I got the Power Package on a 2007 Versa S, and I only got those remotes to lock the doors and open them. No I-Key at all

That would be because you ONLY get iKeys with the SL AND Convenience package.

So... here we go:

S w/o Power Package: 2 keys onlyS w/Power Package: 2 keys, 2 standard remotesSL w/o Convenience: 2 keys, 2 standard remotesSL w/Convenience: 2 iKeys only

Correct, that's exactly how the dealer explained it to us.
