Is there a different key for the trunk? It won't move but I don't want to force it. I was not given 2 keys. Thanks

Are you having trouble opening the key with the remote?

If so check the trunk switch in your glove box.

Give me an inventory of the keys you have. If your trying with the valet key, it won't work.

I only have the ignition key (which works in the doors) and the remote doesn't work ( I put a new battery in the remote and tried the 3 different remote programmings I found on the forum and elsewhere, I will be putting a clarification post for that soon). I have no valet key.

There are 3 keys that originally came with the car.

-Titanium key-Can open everything and start car. This is the Master key.

-Key with black plastic on head of key-can open everything and start ignition. This is the Security key.

-All metal key-which can only open doors and start the car. Cannot open glove box. This is known as the wallet key.

Does the driver's side armrest mounted trunk release button work with the glovebox mounted valet switch in the correct position?

The motor-driven gear inside my trunk latch release actuator used to over-rotate, making it impossible for the trunk lid to latch at all. Don't know if sort of the opposite can take place.

I seem to have the titanium key and a cheap remake.

I know the door rest one works but I haven't tried it with the valet button.

I am going to try some graphite lube and see if it works.

If the trunk lock isn't open regularly with the key, it seizes over time.

Liberal doses of a lubricant like Liquid Wrench and heat work well.

When the weather is warm, I advise parking in direct sunlight with lots of deep penetrating lubricant in the lock mechanism. The heat and lubricant work well.
