Ok guys Im proud to say Im daily driving a 94 Fairlady NA. Love the car. Had one when I was young and was forced to get rid of it by my camaro driving father.. The plans for my babie are to drive the current motor til it dies and then do a VH swap like my boy just did in his 240... Moving on.

I have 2 issues I cant figure out.. The first,.. a sticky lifter. On and on I have tick. It drives for days with no noise, then out of no where.. It comes back and its with me for a couple days. Ive tried thinner oil, Ive tried thicker oil.. Never can get the problem to fully go away..

Issue 2.. while wiring in some LED strips in the footwells... I seemed to have popped the fuse of the stock footwell lights.. Ive pulled every fuse, and tested with multi meter.. Ive checked as many of the relays as I can, I truly cannot figure out out what happen to their power supply. Everything else seems to be working fine in the car. ANY IDEAS?

#1: There's a ton of products that can help. Marvel Mystery oil is one, Seafoam is another, and an "old wives' trick" is ATF. With any of these, change the oil shortly after using. Apart from Marvel Mystery, I should say.

#2: "Theft Room L" fuse in the engine compartment fuse box.

For the lifter, there isn't much you can do unless you want to take the heads apart to rebuild them yourself. Try some of the stuff they sell in the store to fix this.

For the lights, you could try a different timing control module/unit. They are behind that trim piece that covers the drivers kick panel fuse box. They are a common failure point.

Otherwise, grab the FSM, go the electrical section. Print out the first part of it with the overall diagrams, and then whatever sections talk about controlling the interior lights, like the timing control module section. Grab highlighters, trace down relevant circuits, then start chasing them down using the voltmeter to check for voltage when the key is on, and continuity mode to check for connections to ground on positive lines when the key is off.

Ive actually tried ATF, Lucas, and other additives... the tick simply comes and goes as it pleases and I cant seem to stop it..

The Theft Room L fuse does not control the footwells. It does control the dome and map lights but not the footwell. As of now, I hardwired it to the dome and it dimms on time with them..

ANOTHER issue. WHERE in the WORLD is the bulb inside my glove compartment?
