I doubt it's just one place, but I can tell you that I live about 2 and a half hours away from an enormous Nissan manufacturing plant smack dab in the middle of Mississippi -who would have guessed, right?

hmmmm.....good question-on my dealer sticker it says that the final assembly point was Los Angeles-it does not show any point of entry or any indications that it was imported....on my RSX dealer sticker its clearly states that its final assembly point was in Japan and that the port of enrty in the US was San Francisco-I hope my Z was built in Japan-but I don't think so-hopefully-if anybody knows for sure-be kind and enlighten us

I think it is a matter of supply and demand. My first Z (the smashed one under the topic "my car just got hit") the final assemb point was in L.A. My new one, the window had a sticker that said, "fully assemb in Japan. Guess it just depends when, and where you buy it, and how fast can the U.S. import them...don't know for sure.

I believe all 350z's are made in japan in one plant, I know all previous z had been made in japan in one plant only and it was my understanding taht this was still true, I recall there being a thread about "final assembly" explaining that they bolt on some of the optional and saftey equipment only once it arives stateside

and yeah the Smyrna TN plan has been cranking out non z nissans for years, I had a 90 hardbody and a 99 frontier both assymbled there

What up Fellas, there are only two cars made all in Japan from Nissan. My friend is the main tech at Nissan and he said its the Z and the Murano, he also said that the Z cars are the best, built tough, he said to make sure to align your tires because you cant rotate them if you want to prolong your tires and watch your brakes, they can mess up your rotors if you let them get to low. I have a slight click when i shift, is that normal because its a high performance car, it sounds like when your in a truck or other car and you put it in reverse, it makes a little noise. I forgot to ask my friend that question and I dont talk to him to often.

I was wounding if anyone did a high flow-cat yet? My CEL is on. By putting the motormite in do you need both of 42002/42009 or one of them.

This is correct and my dealer told me the ONLY Nissans made in Japan are the 350z and the Murano. The 350z is then shipped to LA via a container ship where the mats and optonal door sill strips are added. Then shipped via train to a location near your dealer. It also takes a solid 3 months to get if ordered as mine did. The other plant is called the Tochigi plant.

Never knew how they got to the US. You will have to replace both cats.

I heard Japan also, but I know of one near Nashville Tennessee and one in Canton, Mississippi. If the Z is made in Japan why they dont send all the cool tuner stuff for us down here so we can hop our Z's up without having to order from abroad.

Wouldn't make as much money if it was here and wouldn't be as rare.
